Tips & Strategies

What are tips for rhyniognatha? Tips and strategies for rhyniognatha in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Now that they've come out I've tested them a few times to try and see how they're tamed.
You wanna grab a tame (I used gigas), preferably with good stats and/or one you don't mind losing - and bring it to wherever they spawn on the map you're using. You should go off and kill a Rhynio (any gender) on your own first, or with said tame so that you can harvest a pheromone from its corpse. Once you have that pheromone, feed it to the tame and then go and find another Rhynio (I believe only females can infest your tames, correct me if I'm wrong!) And aggro it to your tame while the pheromone is affecting it. Keep your tame on passive and let the Rhynio do it's thing! You'll have to shoot the Rhynio while it attacks your Dino, and get it below and certain threshold of health. It'll then perform an animation as if it is about to spit resin, but will do some sort of dive/corkscrew into the tame and voila! Your tame is now infested. Your tame will receive strange cravings while it incubates the baby Rhynio, and they're strange. It can be stuff like element it wants, ranging from consumables like battle tartare to even ammonite bile and achatina paste, all kinds strange things. Once the incubation timer goes down, your tame will die and out will hatch a juvy Rhynio! They won't aggro onto you when you hatch them (at least not in my experience) so super easy to just run up and claim them!
You also can't breed them, I don't think. Doesn't let me anyway, which isn't fun.
Got swormed in the swamp ,RIP level 49
The closer the swamp is to the redwoods the more rhynio spawns, and their spawn rate got increased in ultimate mobile edition so they got more dangerous
Carchas can incubate as well - have one player hit the Female Rhynio until she's below 10% health. During this, you ride the Carcha and feed it the Male Rhynio pheromone. When the Female is below 10% health it will automatically disengage from your friend (I assume if close enough) and start hitting the sacrifice tame. It'll have a really noticeable red cloud around the tame when the Female was successful, and then she'll fly off.
The incubation time will begin. You want a dino with a large health pool because it will start to go down as the incubation continues, and when the baby Rhynio hatches it will kill that tame. If the sacrifice tame dies before incubation is complete or if you cryo it, the incubation will terminate and progress will be lost.
I suggest having a 'box' to keep the tame sacrifice in while it incubates, because it takes some time and you want to keep the sacrifice tame safe and alive. I just did stone fence supports and then large stone walls to surround the tame. You can then cryo the baby Rhynio AFTER it hatches (explodes) from the sacrifice tame, bring it back to base, and raise it in safety.
Good luck!
Quick question, do yall know if I can avoid giving creatures cravings and avoid imprints. I want to tame a trike for this creature. But I don’t know if I can get it without the imprints and expensive cravings. Just for a starter rhynio. And will the rhynio be alive and adult. I don’t need it op I just can’t find an argy or a quetz to tame and all the pts on my single player are max level 30.
I hereby acknowledge that these are worse than a gigantic in my own opinion. I lost 3 pts, a spino, a argy, and a anky.... all at once.... to a single one..... 0/10 would randomly encounter again.
Keep an eye on the host's food as it will drop faster tjan it can eat
You can always find at least a couple of these F*****s in lots of swamps. Once it agros on your flyer, you’re dead. Just to know, stay very far away from them.
From experience, in case of a Rhynio getting agroed into you, don't panic and try to fly low to the ground (not inside the swamp) and try to fly close by the maximum amount of creatures so it agroes into them. Rhynios easily lose interest in you especially if they can't hit you.
It will take traits from the host creature this includes stats, and colors. I'd advise using a high stat giga, or carch, with insane mutations, even a rex will do
They spawn in the swamp -Tested
RIDING ON A FROG WON'T AGGRO EVEN IF T ATTACKS YOU BY MISTAKE.
The rhniognatha was first thought to be thylacoleo sized judging from the dossier however a recent picture of it being as large or larger then a Rex and carrying the Rex, it is speculated that depending on what creature you attach it’s enzyme to it will inherit the size of the creature.
The last sentence is speculation proposed by Syntac and has not been confirmed
They destroyed this tame, speed compatible to a tally (once was faster than a wyvern) stats are very dull and prone to dying with health averaging 3k-5k, and a 50% decrease in speed when carrying things (again its allready around a tappys base speed)......the sky giga should actually be a sky giga considering how tricky and confusing it is to tame these things compared to an actual giga
TURNS OUT IT SPAWNS ON THE ISLAND I shat bricks when I saw that thing and tried so hard to avoid it, rip Miguel 😔 anyways if you are a bit new and don't plan to tame it uuuuh just hope you don't see it, I don't even know how to get away from these things, they're insanely fast.
