In a grassland, you can hit and run. You actually go faster than it when sprinting!

I Tamed one at level 21 I stood on a cliff and it got stuck and I shot it with a bow and tranq arrows it was level 195

Glitch found: if you freeze your dinos with a cryopod and let them out, they will poop but there’s a chance that they will drop an egg, if you keep freezing them and letting them out, they will potentially drop an egg, did it like 10 times and got 2 eggs up so everybody can see

Recently tamed two Rexes at the same time. Here’s a few tips to make sure if you’re trying to tame these boss killing beasts with best results:

1.Make sure you bring the proper weapons and enough tranq arrows/darts and narcotics to make sure you can successfully subdue your target

2. Given your surroundings are accommodating, find a higher elevation where it, or they in my case, cannot reach you

3.If you don’t have a high enough elevation where they can’t reach you, either build a trap like you would for a Giga, or build a 3x3 stone foundation with stone doorframes stacked three high as well as 9 ramps with enough space to be able to quickly shoot your chosen Rex unconscious (you can find the video to build the trap on YouTube created by MissVadams it’s titled Rex Taming: Beginners guide)

3.Once you have the proper placement for everything, use a flyer to aggro your chosen Rex and have it chase you to your desired location, then you can light it up with tranqs and knock it out

4. Traps/higher ground did the job to help capture it? Excellent!!! Now start the taming process by feeding it

These creatures are easy to tame I am only level 35 and I already have a T rex named T-bone.

If you want to tame one this is the way to do it.

1 You have to try to find one they live near around the snow area.

2 Once you found one try to go on a Cliff or anywhere that’s high.

3 use tranquilizer arrows or dart guns to shoot him down or her.

4 Get raw prime meat To feed and also try to protect it just in case.

5 You might need some bio depending what you are giving it.

Bang you have a T. rex.

It’s really not that hard a tame. Trap it with stone gateways and a bear trap. Knock it out with maybe over 100 tranq arrows. (Which aren’t as hard to get as you may think). And BOOM! You have your self a rex. Oh yeah and feed it some kibble, for best taming better stats AND less time for taming. I would say it’s a medium tame.

EASIEST AND CHEAPEST WAY TO TAME A REX

1) Tame a good stamina or high health pteranodon, argy or tapejara

2) Make 4 metal billboards with cementing paste and metal ingots

3) Find a rex, have the billboards in your hot bar and circle around the rex while placing them around(You can also do it easier when they roar)

4) Stay back and tranq it out

5) If you are in an unsafe area it is also nice to surround the rex with wooden spike walls when it’s knocked out

Low key just grapple to a ledge that it can’t reach, shoot it with tranqs (I use darts but I suppose arrows or shocking darts work to) and then when it gets to a high torpor and starts running chase it down either by yourself or on a dino while shooting it still.

Nop I was wrong and tel Rex’s have a little bit better stats up

To tame this bad boy is very easy, i will tell you the most easiest way to tame more then one if you want!

1 build a raft

2 build a cage on the raft that is made of stone. Build 6 rock foundations in the front of the raft then build 3 stone roofs for the floor, because this part will hang over the raft then build the three front walls on the on the raft with stone door frames, do not build on the side you drive the raft leave that only 2 door frames high! Then build the ramp to from the low back part then you have completed your portable Trex trap!

3 look for a Rex on the beach or close by

4 then lead the rex in your trap

5 tang it and tame it!

The reason you build the portable trap is you can take it back to base and tame it there so that way you have all your resources in one place to tame it good luck!

Make sure to kill any creatures it aggroed, and do not leave it by itself, I was taming one and an argie in the redwoods so I left it to check on the argie, and when I came back it was getting killed by a Dino it aggroed. A tribe mate and myself brought hundreds of arrows due to the X-dino increase to damage resistance. Turns out after doing some research that they dont need 3x the amount of arrows they just take longer for the torpidity to raise high enough. I would recommend bringing a spy glass when taming X-Dinos.

Throw your EX at it and run believe me works everytime

Thumb wrestle the rex for max taming efficiency. But if you dont win the rex will taunt you in front of your other dino. And its pretty embarassing.

When your taming your first Rex I would suggest to trap it with STONE gates And also feed it prime meat

Their not that hard trust me don't get scared by them as soon as you get long neck rifle and tranq darts your ready to go. I waited way too long and didn't get my first rex until level 80 just get an argie fly up to a medium height rock and start spamming tranqs into his head. Need about 20-30 tranqs for a low level rex

It a level 90 guy with 10 narc arrows by crossbow to knock out a level 26 Rex female...still waiting to tame

How to tame:

1 Get a longneck/crossbow I recommend ascendant longneck/crossbow

2 Make a trap for easier taming

3 get shooting balm if on mobile

4 trap the rex

5 knock it out

6 feed the thick boi

And boom you got a rex

they dont agro on scorpions and pterodactyl thingy from what i know

These things are way easier to tame than i’ve heard just grab a bunch of tranq arrows (50 to be safe), taming food and head off to a mountain. They always spawn around there, and if you can get high up on a steep slope they won’t be able to get you and you can just tranq the hell out of it.
