If you sink a ton of tranqs into it and it runs away and suddenly turns on you, its not trying to eat you. Their AI isnt the best and they get stuck on everything. They are just struggling on a nonexistant wall and are taking the long way around. Continue tranqing.

Honestly, these are really easy to tame.

Get 100 tranqs, 60-80 narcs, (i reccomend 80 just to be safe) And 100+ fish meat.

Get 1 stone base, 2 tall stone walls (or metal), and 6 stone ceilings (To have space to land a flyer).

Make sure the walls are on only 1 side, so it should be 8 single walls tall. Or you can use a Tapejara.

Pick a flyer with a decent amount of health, just incase something goes wrong. I recommend a high-level Argie.

Build it by a Rex, Land and shoot. Chase it when it starts running away.

After its knocked out, you can put you flyer on Neutral, so it can distract anything.

Rexes eat fish meat quicker, so use that. Monitor the Rex's Torpor levels, and feed it narcs.

Now you have a Rex! Now you can get another one so they can breed, and now you have a Rex army.

The Rex are very slow . Put a stone gates around him while he is stuck and use a bear trap then put the x3-x4 stone gates then tranq him out . Make sure you clear the area before setting the bear traps others creature can spring it and u would be left with using your self or a tanky dino for a distraction

Btw people all my tips are me trying to help all you guys so i would appreciate it if you all could like them so everyone can find them easier it would mean a lot to me and help new and old players getting back into the game so I would recommend given my tip a like to help everyone. Taming one of these is actually pretty easy. All you need to do is find one, get to high ground or you could be on tape or a quetzal platform saddle ( make sure they are on follow). Shoot it in the face, that is most recommended, kill all other dangerous creatures in the areas harvest them and most of them should give you prime. Then feed prime and you have a new Rex! U can knock it out with a primitive crossbow u just need a high ground or a dino with a lot of healt atleast 1 and half k and u shall be good

Recently tamed two Rexes at the same time. Here’s a few tips to make sure if you’re trying to tame these boss killing beasts with best results:

1.Make sure you bring the proper weapons and enough tranq arrows/darts and narcotics to make sure you can successfully subdue your target

2. Given your surroundings are accommodating, find a higher elevation where it, or they in my case, cannot reach you

3.If you don’t have a high enough elevation where they can’t reach you, either build a trap like you would for a Giga, or build a 3x3 stone foundation with stone doorframes stacked three high as well as 9 ramps with enough space to be able to quickly shoot your chosen Rex unconscious (you can find the video to build the trap on YouTube created by MissVadams it’s titled Rex Taming: Beginners guide)

3.Once you have the proper placement for everything, use a flyer to aggro your chosen Rex and have it chase you to your desired location, then you can light it up with tranqs and knock it out

4. Traps/higher ground did the job to help capture it? Excellent!!! Now start the taming process by feeding it

Y'all should use the strave taking method. Which is when you'll trap the rex in stone gates, you sleep in a bed and wake up. Then knock the rex out and feed it raw meat(not prime) and it'll take in a few minutes

you can use grappling hooks to hook onto your flyer in the air, to hang below your flyer but above the ground so you can just shoot it with tranq darts while you are up there. not sure what flyers it works on specifically, but i know it works for the quetzal and pteranodon.

If you wanna an easy way to bring a rex to trap or below a cliff, tame dodos or any small creatures a pteranodon can pick up. They will follow if your carrying any small creature, I have done it with not only rexs but raptors as well.

I hope this helps you to bring the dino you want to tame into a trap.

Youtubers make giant traps that require a ton of prep without a Doedicurus. You can tame one with bear traps in half a second. Also, use bio toxins instead of narcotics.

In ragnarok, Viking bay 1 and 2 theres a big skeleton Rexs cant get in to unless they go to the back but once you find a rex go to inside it all the way to the back in the middle and shoot it with slingshots if your low level but if your high level than use tranq darts so you dont waste tranqs since you have a lot of time Depending on your level if your under level 69 than get a rex under level 100 or you'll be there forever but if your over level 69 get a Rex over level 100. On the island theres a cave on carnivore island go inside it and follow the ragnarok rules.In the center use a raptor level up its movement speed and stamina and run while shooting it with tranqs and it will run away or it wont either way chase it or keep shooting and then it will be tamed. There are many other ways to tame rexs but but i found these easier somehow. good luck with the taming!

Every 10 levels equals 1000 torpor, so a 150 will have 15000 torpor

Keep that in mind

Make sure to kill any creatures it aggroed, and do not leave it by itself, I was taming one and an argie in the redwoods so I left it to check on the argie, and when I came back it was getting killed by a Dino it aggroed. Just tamed one I will tell you my experience, so I found one and shot it with tranc DARTS (but tranc arrows work just as well although you need a few more :)) and it kept on getting deststracted by other Dino's which made it not attack me, so after I knocd it out I killed the other animals attacking the unconchis body with my Pump shotgun and gave it raw meat and a couple of bio-toxins and boom I got Rexy I hoped this helps on your next Rex tame

To knock it out get a crossbow to shoot bedtime stories in his/her eyes and the FOOD PREFERRED

MEAT -SECOND BEST

Cooked meat - bad

Cooked prime meat - Badder

Spoiled meat - only use for emergencies

Just shoot with tranqs and use prime that’s what I did

When your taming your first Rex I would suggest to trap it with STONE gates And also feed it prime meat
