Build a pillar out of stone/metal foundations, about 7-8 high and shoot the rex from there. Keeping rex down won't be a problem unless you tame it with fish or just raw meat. Tame it with prime or mutton, and you'll get yourself a nice rex.

How to tame rex:

1) Get resources:

.Tranq darts (or tranq arrows, I prefer tranq darts) about 10-20

.Cooked prime meat or just normal prime meat about 20-50 raw meat and 10 prime meat( or cooked) (Normal meat will do)

(Cooked prime meat lasts longer)

.4 reinforced dinosaur gateways

.4 reinforced dinosaur gateway doors

. And a Rifle gun (for the tranq darts) or a bow (for the tranq arrows)

2) find a rex

3) trap the rex using the reinforced dinosaur gateways

4) tranq the rex (about 10-20 tranqs will knock it out)

5) feed the rex the meat

6) now you have your own pet rex!

I used this method and now I have 4 females and 2 male rexes!

There torpor drops extremely slowly

feeding the rex berries makes it food goes down faster

Same with all other carnivores in the game

Get any bow then trap it with 4dino gates

Caught one with a basic stone door frame and stairs trap, only took about 5 tranq darts for a level 10

Just tame a baby rex and get a high level rex when its fully grown up

But where dose the baby rex come from

This thing is very easy to tame .just knock out it with tranq dart and put 1 raw/cooked prime meat and 20/or more of raw meat (only for low levels from 1...65)

Here’s a tip You should use toxcian arrows because ther purpose is to tranq big Dino’s including gigas

Very easy, get 4 stone dino gates, place 3 down (a square with a opening) put a bear trap in the middle of it and then lure the rex into, when the bear trap triggers place the last gate in the opening behind the rex, then shoot at will. This works with many different big creatures

Here is an easy way to tame a rex. Step 1: find a rex either far away from danger or alone. Eliminate the danger if there is any.

Step 2: Build a 9-10 high stone pillar with ladders to get up (do this a decent distance from the rex.

Step 3: Climb the pillar and pelt the rex with tranqs. When it starts the run, climb down and continue to fire at it.

Step 4: Put food and narcotics in its inventory. Enjoy your rex!

If your on easy they only take a few 15 tranqs you can easily outrun them. Once tamed their only downside is their stamina

I would recommend trapping it with stone and a 50 should take about 45 tranq darts or 50just to be sure

Rexs are really easy to tame I knocked out a 130 but it disappeared when I came back from getting food for it and I was on single player and out of render range so I have no idea what happen then I found I level 100 which wasn’t great but it was ok ok the first one I just stood in a hill and shot it with a cross bow the second one I tried to trap it but I didn’t think it would break wood Dino gates so easily so I ended up just running around after it I have a bit of a issue about the info on the rex it says torpor drain is high but it’s really not you don’t need narcotics unless your using regular raw meat but you won’t need a lot as I said they are really easy to tame as soon as you can get tranqs you can tame them even with a bow but I wouldn’t recommend it I think the saddle is a bit to high level considering how easy they are to tame just don’t get to close they bite

Use a griffin that has a lot of stam and just run around or away from it

If you want to take a rex all you need is a tanky Dino then let the red attack the Dino and shoot the red whilst it’s attacking

On MOBILE-

Tame whatever level Male you want, and tame whatever female you want, using dyed crushing amber, color one of them red and the other white. Breed them, get about 5 eggs, the babies should have red and white in them, and boom, you have rexes that look like alpha rexes.

Use toxics arrows it’s better for tanning don’t be scared of it

Not that hard of a tame I took my argi and 100 narcotics 50 tranq arrows and I set out to find one. While scanning the rivers I found one trying to get a theri witch was on a steep hill. I noticed the opportunity and I landed on the hill the rec could not get me so I used my cross bow and it took only 35 tranq arrows in the head to knock it out you know when it's about to be knacked out because it will start to run away from you so you can stay put and shoot it or you could follow it since it's running away it will not attake you. Keep in mind mine was a level 25 so a lower level would be easier to take. Like to share.
