Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a rex? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a rex.
So my experience with this beast was horrifying but I knocked it out it took so much tranq arrows it took 30 tranq arrows and I ran fast with the Brontos because there were lots of dinos with the brontosaurus then it was attacking the other dinos then I shot it a lot then it fell asleep because the thing it was attacking a a tank it was an ankylo so that’s my experience with a rex.
Lead it a cliff and make the cliff colapse then run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Four huge metal signs put them into a square and put the fourth one in after the rex is in, it works.
Who else wishes they would add it so we cans put thanks in AR’s
I have some rexes in my single player u have to be very careful when trying I tried once I got arrows and the bow broke so I used a sling shot and it knocked out put some meat in it and I had a rex!
I found the best way to tame aggressive and more dangerous creatures is to use Tapejara (saddle acquired at level 55). They can land on high and vertical surfaces while still allowing you to shoot. If the tame is not close enough to the ledge, I suggest shooting it or Argo-ing it to follow you. This method helped a lot i was able to easily tame a spino and Rex.
Well I don't know if it happen in pc because I am good with mobile control and play ark mobile but for me rex is soo much easier then taming spino you just need a high place where rex can't reach you and hit him with treanq arrow or tranquilizer dert until it got unconscious then just feed prime meat it won't take lot narcotic 10 is enough for me I didn't even needed narcotic I tamed a mex level rex without narcotic
You can find these bad boys in the mountains, snowy parts, and in the red woods. Use around 30 tranq arrows/darts to knock them out. Feed them raw prime meat or raw meat if you have the courage to wait and boom got the king of the dinosaurs.
Low levels are easy, get on a high rock and have a bow with tranqs and a spyglass (to watch its torpor) and when it runs away it will be knocked out. (I did this on carnivore island)
Go to a high place shoot it with tranqs and feed it raw prime meat don’t do extra
Ride your Iguanodon, use other dinos as bait and just shoot it with tranq arrows, darts etc. Add: you can knock it out while on a cliff or when it is stuck other is using a large beartrap. Always bring your escape dino with you Incase something attacks you.
How to tame: get tranqs and meat and some narcs and bear traps. Spot a Rex. Watch Rex get eaten by spino. Tame spino instead.
To be honest spino is easier. It costs Less narcs meat tranqs and levels for saddle. It is more powerful then a Rex on its hind legs. I don’t want anyone to be mad but the Rex is weak compared to the spino. I suggest skipping the Rex. Unless you have a tek rex saddle I would never tame one. Tame some yutys and spinos instead. -lava
Be careful when taming these guys in or around the swap. Leeches, if nearby, can and will attach to them after they're unconscious, and you can't remove them until after the dino is tamed. Beware the leeches.
To tame a rex at low level need 3 large bear traps place them in line. Agro the rex it will stuck in 1st bear trap then start shooting tranq arrows ....then it will stck in second continue shooting tranq arrows ..pow rex is uncounsious .... but its little risky.😁
The safest way to trap a rex is to build a 2x2 square STONE foundation, add 4 STONE door frames on each side, and add four ramps to make one big ramp on the side your going to lure the rex into. Then, just have it chase you into the taming pen you've made, and get yourself out through one of the door ways. The next safest, but a little bit more risky and resource friendly, would be to set up 2 STONE dinosaur gate ways to make an angle, with a LARGE bear trap in the middle, so that once you lure the t rex into the LARGE bear trap, you can place the last dinosaur gate way behind it so it won't get out. Then, use a nock out method of your choice. Once it's nocked out, put your taming food of choice in it's inventory, and wait for it to tame up. No creature of my knowledge attacks an awake or unconscious rex, so you can go far away from it for a while if your in an area with other Rexes.
The rex is not especially hard to tame. There is several options in how to do it.
1 stand on a cliff that is higher then the rex an shoot it with tranqs of choice. It will start running when the torpor get high.
2. Use a thyla or wolf or equus or any other fast tame that you can use weapons when riding. Shoot the rex with some tranqs of choice and run away a bit. Shoot again the run away. Repeat untill the rex start to run away and then run after the rex and shoot till ita a sleep.
3. Use a Griffin and fly above it and shoot with tranqs. Fly after and shoot with tranqs till its asleep.
4. Have a tribe pick you up with an argy and fly above the rex and shoot tranqs and then fly after when it starts to run.
Hope it was helpful to someone 😊
To avoid the long taming time you can adjust taming speed before you join your worlds :)
Bring extra supplies then what the app says. I noticed sometimes that it’s not accurate. I put 200 tranq arrows into a 145 X-Rex and it didn’t even start fleeing. Sorry Dododex…
To knock out this monstrosity get it stuck tow rocks and when he or she what’s you shout it at the head and it likes prime meat.
Build a pillar out of stone/metal foundations, about 7-8 high and shoot the rex from there. Keeping rex down won't be a problem unless you tame it with fish or just raw meat. Tame it with prime or mutton, and you'll get yourself a nice rex.
