So you wanna tame a Rex here’s what you need

Couple hundred arrows or darts

Some prime meat

If a high lv then make a simple 3gate trap place the in the form of a triangle with a bear trap at the middle lure it in close it in and tranq it out ezz or just tame a spino

If you are a beginner, and you find yourself in a predicament, where a Rex is chasing you down here is what to do; 1. Scout, once it saw you it will roar, look everywhere that might get it stuck( Rocks, trees, ravines) or run through rough terrain!

2, vigilence if you here distant stomping, the Rex may still be following you, this leaves you with the same options as before or try to run around the beasts favourite food, it might take that opportunity rather than just a snack. (Parasaurs trikes or any herbivore that drops medium poop)

3. Prevention, Rex unlike any other creature releases a distinctive roar, being a raspy kinda like this; RAAAAAHHH or it’s primary roar ; roaA -A-A. Not very good at saying roars, but after you hear the roar, check your sorroundings as when it roars it saw something and is gonna chase it down until it eats something, that something will vary time to time, if you see a Rex stay away from it unless you have a decent mount, and or weapon!

Taming; wanna tame one of these beasts? I’ll tell you my way, step 1. Prepare, do not use melee weapons, as they do a lot of dmg per hit, so I recommend tranq arrows, and a decent ranked crossbow, remember all Rex’s regardless of lvl always have more than 1000 torpor, so pack a lot of tranq arrows, also pack scorpion kibble or prime meat for a quicker tame, prime works well as well. Step 2 the hunt, rex are commonly found in open areas; volcano, arctic, mountains, and plains) I recommend a flying animal put it on lowest follow, and fly arround till u see one. Step 3. The Knockout, the objective is to get as much tranqs as you can without it hitting you, so shoot it until I gets close then hop on your bird and fly further away to continue shooting it, once it runs get off you mount and chase it down while shooting it, once out put the taming supplies in its inventory! Ther you go you now have a Rex! Up if helpful

I want that 70k hp rex. Hellooooo just how?!?!

If your looking for a good level rec trust me it all DEPENDS ON YOUR LUCK I've been looking for a max level rex for alpha boss fights and I keep finding shitty rexes the highest I encountered were 125 and lvl 100 on beaches . I also found a 145 when I had no tranqs and when I came back it despawned . Just remember if you need an boss fighting army you need a rex army with good stats noy just levels

Why do people need taming pens? Just get on a cliff and shoot it with tranq arrows

I was on Fjorder with my brother and was on Vannaland south which was supposed to be easy but we found 2 rexes and a tek one.

Easy Rex trap:

Requirements,

1x large bear trap (optional)

4x Dino gateways (stone or higher)

Steps:

Place the first 3 gateways in a U shape with some space between because the Rex is fat.

Then place the bear trap in the middle.

Then find the Rex and lead it through the open part of the U shape.

Once the Rex is in place the last gate (this is much easier with the bear trap but not impossible)

If you want to trap other large carnivores this same trap also works. (With gigas use metal instead of stone) 🦖

To tame one make a trap out of wood gates, stone if a higher level, that looks like this (from above) /_\ afterwards, put a large bear trap in the middle. Then, using one last gate, fill in the gap on the top. (Obviously you can rotate the trap making the gap on the bottom or top.) Afterwards just knock it out! Good luck taming! 🦖

The alpha. These things are strong. I was scared to do the mission to kill one of these, but I have a tip. If you find one near another carnivore ( say allosaurus, a pack of raptors ) lead the rex to them. Keep in mind they have a truce with spinos. The carnivores will attack it, bringing it to low health. Then, you attack. With everything. You don’t need the gun, you just need to kill the rex and the pursuit will end.

On mobile:

30 tranq arrows’ all it took to knock this guy down. (Used crossbow) even less if you aim for the head.

-Have at least 1 or 2 prime meat

(kill a nearby carno/sacro/boa)

-And at least 25 regular meat.

-In like 2 in game days youl have this guy

Sleep and leave this guy alone. He wont be eaten whilst unconscious by anybody.

Ps: Im by no means a pro, I only speak by experience. It’s THAT easy. Maybe theres an easier way but i find this method the easiest.

I just knocked a rex lvl 70 am shivering 😖😖

If on the island, just place a 3x3x3 trap with stone doorframes in a flat area in snow biome. Metal/wood ramps on one side. Pretty much anything will fit except titan. Idk if gigga fits. Place a bed/sleeping bag on the side and u can take anything.

My personal favorite dinosaur and travel companion the rex is the best dinosaur for defense and hunting. It is like a ward for smaller predators and has an awesome roar that has a cool down period. They can carry a lot of weight and move very fast even when you're so heavy you can't run anymore. An astounding taming mount. Park one near a tame that's unconscious and most animals will stay away. Can carry alot of meat and prime meat for taming carnivorous animals. Gathers alot of trophies for offerings to the obelisk when you kill the right animals with it.

I tamed a Rex by taking my pteranodon and landing on a rock where the Rex couldn’t reach me and shooting it with tranq arrows until it ran away, then chased it while still shooting it until it fainted. Make sure to take plenty of narcotics to keep it unconscious while taming it though. Up if helpful!

I had a level 70 stegosaurus and tried to kill an alpha trex. Let’s just say the Rex had a snack.

If you have the difficulty up to 1, you can find level 150s COMMONLY In valguero's boreal forest.

How to Escape this Rex get a Mammoth and wolly rhinos get more arrows / 50-20 arrows

Rex is an easy tame if you can get a beezlebufo the gaint frog just hit and run with tranqs while on the frog rex will never be able to touch the frog coz you'll be able to jump real far and shoot the tranq when the rex get close jump again to keep distance then shoot the rex to sleep by continuing the process the frog can be used to tame almost any creature whether land or water

Lol I was trying to tame a level 100 and it got stuck so I hit it with 20 tranq dart and 50 tranq arrows and it did not go down so I used a sling shot that I had laying around and I hit it 50 times and it got knocked out
