Wild Quetzals do not land, therefore use the tapejara strategy to tame this guy

to track a quetzal you can put a tracker on a dimorphodon and have it attack, it won't catch up after the quetzal get's skittish

Solo tame a Quetz while riding a griffin. Make sure its stamina is high. Bring lots of tranq darts.

step 1:get rare flowers

step 2:get tanky dino

step 3:lead it away with flyer after eating flower

step 4:get on tank and shoot it in thehead with crossbow and narc arrows

If your really good you can jump off an argue grapple it and make it attack the quetzal but it won’t get it cuz it’s to slow then just tranq it that’s how I did it in asa. Credit to someone else who this exact comment

Official ASA server on 1X dododex was wrong. 150 quetz stood up wild with 1 bite left after using posted narco pots. Deff add like 10 narco pots more. 1.5 HOURS WASTED.

Best way to tame a quetzal is to eat rare flower so he follows you and just lead it to the trap.

Use a net projectile it works on them.

Solo-taming a Quetzal has never been easier. Bring a flyer, grapple onto the Quetzal, ready your net gun (Yes, they work on a Quetzal!) Wait for the Quetzal to be over flat ground then net it. Follow it down then build a simple birdcage with dino doorways. Super simple and now you have a trapped Quetzal to tranq away!

Federation Suit on Genesis Part 2 makes taming these big guys a breeze. Just fly alongside and aim for the head. Recommend a high damage crossbow or longneck with shocking darts for a quicker knockout. Just be careful about where they land. Everything likes Quetz meat.

So if u r on gen 2 use a bird to hop onto the quiz and tranq from on top. This method did not work on other maps because of the lack of tek armor but with tek feet u can stand on the side of cliffs and the qutzels

Basically tame a low level tap pump nothing but speed

Whistle target at the quetz let the tap bite the quetz while ur shooting tranqs and since tap has very low melee does practically no damage

Get dodo arrows to attract it and knock it out give Rex kibble and I recommend at least 100 narcs

I think there is a bug. I shoot about 80 darts on a lvl 24 Quetzal (I shoot every time I can, so torpor cant go down that much) and the Quetzal was still flying peacefully in the air. And I hit him, I saw the damage

For people on ragnarok or crystal isles use a griffin and shoot off the back of it

Grapple on to its face then just tranq it out. But bring parachutes so u don’t fall to death when it gets knocked out

Level 1 get a revival platform

2 kill the quetz DO NOT HARVEST TAKE IMPLANT

3 make a trap around revival platform

4 revive the quetz

5 tame it

I think this is only on Nintendo some times they fall out of the sky and you can trap them and tame them
