Tame a tapejera and then sit on one of the passenger seats and whistle it up( need to be flying off the ground). Find the queztal once you get next to it whistle passive and continue this process until you knock it out! Good luck taming!!!

No idea why people want to whistle their flyers to attack the quetzal when you can literally just go as close as you can to the quetzal you wanna tame on a tapejara and then hop in a passenger seat and whistle it to follow you. This way it will literally just hover in the air and you can tranq the quetzal from there. If it goes out of range just jump in the rider seat and move closer. Keep doing this until you knock it out.

You can still use the methods where you’ll set a flyer to attack the quetzal, grapple it (or tapejara passenger) and then tranq it but if the quetzal isn’t a high enough level that method might get risky due to hp and torpor stuff. It still works just fine but my method completely avoids unnecessary damage to the quetzal so it may be safer.

(MOBILE)If you're just starting out on the Ark, start breeding dodos for bigger size and here's why.

Big dodos drop dodo feathers which can be used to make dodo arrows. You can shoot the Quetzal with the dodo arrow to make it aggro on you and then you can lure it into a trap.

Quetzals can't go through dino gates so you can design your own trap for the process

The trap I used was made with a behemoth gate, dino gates, foundations and roofs.

Note that it can destroy wood structures.

If you cannot find them a red ( you probably will) go the hidden lake on the island and if not there try the mountain bottom right of it

Easy to tame with a Wyvern. Set it to follow you, and find a Quetz. Then, dismount the Wyvern and shoot. When I gets too far, get back on and follow it. It's very effective and worked well for me. Good luck!

The easiest way to tame these (on mobile) is to tAme some rexes (1 male and female) have them mate if it’s a boy congratulations you now have raw prime meat if it’s a girl when she’s old enough mate her with the male and rinse and repeat and the non mating females should lay eggs

Just...Get a low lvl one Chain bola it and tame it. Then after you have it go tame a better lvl one. Ez.

Use dodo arrows to aggro and lure them into a favorable position.

Found an easy way to get a second quetz on mobile. First u need to go into settings and disable the tap to mount button. After u do that, take ur first quetz with all ur supplies and find the second quetzal, dismount and u will remain on its back, since quetzals go about the same speed, whistle attack and keep following the second quetz while firing away at it. After u knock it out, whistle passive and fly down to it. Hope that helped all u mobile players out there!

Get snow owl land on it and freeze it

I was In the snow right where it meets up with the desert on rag and it was flying into the ground it flew straight into my allies mammoth trap pillar and I walked up on it with a wyvern and trapped it and knocked it out

If you are on a solo game use your seconde controller as the shooter(tapejara) and your first controller as the driver and you should be good works great juste dont use the wrong controler lol hope this helps for "solo players" u know what too do so people can see

It's easy to solo tame this dino

The way I tamed mine was pure BS. I used my tapejara to sort of push the quetzal down lower to the ground. Once it was low enough I grappled onto the quetzal and unleashed the tranq darts to its face. The best part is when it tried escaping, it got itself stuck in the trees

Just remember not use cooked fish meat, 150 quetz will gain 2 extra levels eating raw fish meat in almost same time. Don't forget that.

At Island map, tey are near all obis, mlstly near red, but i found lot of them in snow biom too. Best taming way is to grab your friend with any flyer, chase and tranq it. If you are alone and noone likes you the best way is to tame you tapejare, sit in the front seat and let the tapi on aggresive following quetz, if its near set it to passive and tranq it while flying. Or take any other flyer and use hook and do the same passive-agressive thing. Best way of all is tame low lvel one and then bild a trap on it and you can tame how many you want.
