This is a pain in the ass to find

To tame a quetz, you need longneck rifle, tapejara.

Find the quetz you want in red obilisk,

seat in the passenger seat in the tapejara,

Shot the quetz the best rifle or your crossbow,

Be careful if you drop the quetzal in a alpha creature, giga, swamp, water then go home and give up.

I’m seeing comments about stuff like riding a tapejara and whistling it but legit just net gun it or freeze it with a snow owl and then trap it while it’s frozen

Easy way to tame this big guy is kill it and take the implant and revive under a cage in oblisk it take around 45amber to revive just a choice if u suck at arge grabling wishile taming method like me

Yo, I’m on mobile, and my quetzal disappeared into oblivion. Like, I can’t request him or unclaim him in the tame menu. Does anyone know how I can get him back?

Find a low lvl first then tame it and build a trap on it then go find a high level and fly in front of it and stop and then place the gate on the back end

On the maps like Fjordur where you can tame the Desmodus, it's really easy to tame a Quetzal. Just follow behind on your Desmodus and shoot it with tranq arrows or darts. Just make sure that you don't make it pass out over water!

If you’re on mobile and don’t mind spending a little bit of amber, kill one with a pteranodon or something [DON’T HARVEST THE BODY], grab its implant, create a trap around an obelisk or one of your revival platforms then revive it inside the trap and you can easily knock it out without using grappling hooks or making a flyer aggro it, risking your flyer being faster and killing it. A level 15 one would cost around 35 amber to revive though you can easily get amber by opening supply drops. This isn’t the best way as amber is hard to get but out of all the techniques I’ve seen it’s the easiest

i got to admit, I am a person who never evolves in Ark. Not even to metal, or tek. Neither grappling hooks. But I do have evolved tames. It was super hard for me to tame the Quetzal, because desired ones got away, and others were too high of a lvl. I had to tidy save so many times my Tapejara was sick of me and tried making me fall with all my narcotics inside of it up high in the air.

Finally I knocked out a blue male quetzal. I was dissapointed, but it was better than nothing. Quetzals are hard tames for me, and watch that torpor.. It falls down as quick as a therizino's. Any quetzal that you have, be grateful for it. For it shall serve you as a help with metal runs.

Use the net projectile on it. It'll work. (Genesis 2 map has this engram to learn).

The net ties it up and it falls to the ground where you can knock it out. Have fun!

Maybe use rare flowers if you want it over a certain area. IDK.

I don’t know why people waste parachutes and grapples. Just use a Tapejara, set the target and tranq it out. It’s a lot cheaper.

I tamed one alone on the center. I only use the best crossbow and 100 arrows and 20 parachutes. It's easy to fly over it with your pterodactyl or someone else and then drop it, open the parachute and shoot it. If you think you are out of range then drop and open the next parachute so that you get no fall damage. And repeat it

Short tip here:

1. Use tapejara make it sure that its follow you before you ride.

2. Make tapejara attack target and uncheck the collect victim item.

3.use crossbow and tranq arrow. Or darts. Bring rex kibble if dont use any you have berries or raw meat but it has slow taming use bio toxin for this.

4. When in ride attack the quetzal at the back of the tapejara .when you attack the quetzal tapejara will follow it and start to chasing it then you must careful the knockout dont knockout it in water.!!!!

5. After knockout taming it. 😍.

6. Make it sure no other creature or dino attacking it.

I went through about more than 10 quetzals, and 2 of them were knocked. Execept the first one woke up, and the second one died. Finally, I knocked a blue quetzal out on a mountain. (Btw, tidy saving and knocking quetzals took 2 irl days), the blue quetzal was tamed and I took it all the way back to my base. I just learned Quetz saddles aren't unlocked at lvl 71, so I got to do it the quest way. Killing argies quest will give you an ascendant saddle I think. But seriously, the main purpose of this is to tell you how hard it was to tame a quetzal. Ecspecially for people who used Tapejaras...

Most of the quetzals were too high of a lvl, and desired ones got away. Anyways have a good day...

On a brontosaurus with a platform saddle take ballista turrets and chain bola and aim fire and knock out tame and that’s how u tame a quetzal for beginners

People make this too complicated. Net gun it to the ground and trap with wooden gateways

Get an argue slightly faster than a running quetzal

Grapple on too argue then wishil attacking the argue gets too close whisil passive repeate till quest is koed
