Tips & Strategies

What are tips for quetzal? Tips and strategies for quetzal in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
1. Go to the red obelisk and if you are on mobile, go out of render distance and keep tidy saving till one spawns.
2. If it’s low level, kill it and repeat step one.
I used this tip and now I have 5 quetzals :D
You can easily tame a quetzal if you have a wyvern. Just whistle follow and dismount in midair and you SHOULD stay sitting on it's back. Then start tranquilizing it. Hope this helps :D
I tamed mine with a Griffin at red obelisk
If you are on ragnarok just use a griffin because you can shoot off the back
Use a desmodus. You can shoot on its back and it can fly backwards.
Ez to knock out, I recommend using a desmo or any flyer who can allow holding crossbows
For Mobile Players below level 85 wanting to tame this, first get a flying creature faster or as fast as A Quetz, Get a grapple hook and a crossbow, Plus Taming gear and while in midair near the Quetz, Jump off and shoot your creature with the grapple, Bring parachutes if You fall, and now you’re hanging on your creature with a grapple whistele attack target on the quetz and when it gets colse whistle passive, shoot the quetz with Tranq arrows/ Toxicant/ Darts And the whistle attack again and when close whistle passive, while doing this shoot it with knockout weapean and do it until it is knocked, but dont let it get out of range because you wont be able to whistle attack and you’ll be stuck.
The people fighting about taming it normally or using the grapple method:
Dodo arrow: Amateurs.
Use a netgun when it flies above ground. Once netted, either have a trap ready for high levels or shoot tranq arrows into their eyes(more dmg). It you have a buddy, have them shoot with tranq darts while you shoot into the eyes with arrows. Be careful though as they’re kinda wimpy at times. Super hard to tame while solo without a net gun.
Once tamed a Quetzal’s stats go up a RIDICULOUS amount. It’s weight goes up by around 200 for a wild lvl 80, which means they are PERFECT for collecting MASSIVE amounts of heavy mats like Metal, Obsidian and Wood. Their health from a wild lvl80 also goes up by around 2000, which is pretty good, and when lvled their health goes up by 500, more or less, each time, which can make them AMAZING 🤩 tankers. Their melee tamed stat can also go up by 100%, And don’t get me started on the overpowered knockback. I just wish these guys fitted in caves.
Quetzals are one of the most useful dinos in ark. But when trying to tame one dont lead it through the redwood, me and my buddy were taming one and it flew through there. Long story short we got ambushed by a thyla and we lost all our taming gear and a high level argentavis
Found mine (level 45) at lat 42.7 long 65.8
Spent two (irl) days looking for one on my Singleplayer Island game, was about to throw in the towel and spawn in a wild one to tame then BAM, I got the dopamine hit I was waiting for when I saw that big mother flapping about. Landed my tapejara, loaded up the longneck with darts and set my Tappy to follow and attack, after a length chase shooting darts from the passenger seat brought him down near the swamps, west coast. Solo tame. Finally!!!!!
If you're rich af, just kill it, take the implant, set a trap on the revival platform, revive it then mag dump all your tranqs on this mf
If you have a friend ask him to help
Get a flyer then grap your friend and fly up to the quetz and Shot it. Be careful where you want to tame it because it is More likly That they will drown in Rivers
Good luck survivor !!!
the only one I found was north of the blue obelisk
found 2 of these I think I am real lucky cause im typing this from mobile
If on extinction or transferred a SNOW OWL over to another map you can freeze them out the sky and they will land, which could make things easier for you
