Leapt from ground and knocked from argentavis. Now my 254 argy is dead. Was in winter zone. Went to get body back and my 200 argy is now dead. Stopped trying then. Just don't get hit off one near anything that'll kill u

First time encountering these and now I’m stranded in the middle of the mountains

WARNING

These guys can knock Argentavis and Pteranodon out of the sky if they fly close enough to the ground

Just one of those dinos that will haunt you no matter what point in the game you are currently at 🤷‍♂️ Literally no way you can prevent being killed by one of these things except just STAYING AWAY!!! I am level 87 and these things still haunt me 🤷‍♂️ The funny thing is, they are worse than a Rex or Giga in a way 🤔😂

They are commonly found in the redwoods but I have a seen some in the snow area

On mobile, they have great knockback and can knock back a lot of creatures.

In case you didnt know they can spawn in aberration's red zone and scorched earth out of all places

Beware the surface of the redwoods or the Arctic because these things can dig and they're practically invisible I invite you to bring at least one spyglass to identify it.

I’m not going into detail about encountering a wild badger, all I need to say is that they are ground thylas.

I saw one of these things whilst on my best spino names spike and killed it with like a billion terror birds on me in the swamps next to the redwoods and saw a purlova for the first time. And did not know it could do so much thing and how dangerous it was.

Just surprise them by a grenade XD

You can find these dinos in the redwood biome or snow biome. I had trouble finding them myself since they blend in so well and if they are up out of the ground they look like dire bears! Until one day I was going to tame a megaloceros and I knocked it out, the darn Purlovia snuck up on me and ate my tame! Always bring a bola and at least 10-25 tranq arrows, depending on your bow. Do not let these guy pack up as they will rip you to shreds. Best method I find that works is to climb on a rock or build a pen around it quickly and then starve it out before knocking it out, this way you don’t have to waste narcotics on the Dino. Use prime raw meat for 15%+ each piece! And if you wanted to know what they are useful for... HIDING YOUR STUFF AND BEING A MINE FOR PVP!!! (If you made it this far, I give you my last 180 words I have left...) Okay this is why I haven’t tamed one : THEY CANT BE RIDEN - They cant be carried by Argentavis - These almost killed me ( last reason ) They don’t like my birds. . . - (Done!)

THEY KNOCK OUT YOUR TAME AND KICK YOU OFF I was a noob just doing a explorer note quest, I was scared I had never in been in the redwoods I didn’t really know it was dangerous beside some carnos I saw in the swap but then I got jump scared, logged off when I came back it hadn’t saved so I felt what must have been the best feeling I had ever felt my stuff had lived everything I had worked for my stupid flimsy hide armor and a level 13 PT but I had some food I guess

To all you asking the ark dev to make this thing rideable on dododex, You KNOW they won’t see it, so grow up and ask them on a review or on discord

Get a shoulder mount, throw them ontop of the lump in the ground and watch the purlovia leap for them now knock it out

The are all over the winter part of the island and can be found on the redwood

These are not really dangerous if they are unburied, but if they are buried, they will either stun you or your mount. It may not be a problem if it’s only the Purlovia in the area, but most likely it’s not only.

I was in the snow biome with my Royal Griffin, killing an alpha T-rex, when all of a sudden this thing jumped out and stunned my griffin. Nothing good came out of this, the griffin was killed by the alpha T-rex and a couple spinos and shortly after, I died too. Thankfully I had nothing valuable in my inventory, but my griffin died and there’s not much I can do.

Never fly low in the snow or redwoods unless well prepared for dismounting and stunning.
