First time encountering these and now I’m stranded in the middle of the mountains

I saw one of these things whilst on my best spino names spike and killed it with like a billion terror birds on me in the swamps next to the redwoods and saw a purlova for the first time. And did not know it could do so much thing and how dangerous it was.

Just one of those dinos that will haunt you no matter what point in the game you are currently at 🤷‍♂️ Literally no way you can prevent being killed by one of these things except just STAYING AWAY!!! I am level 87 and these things still haunt me 🤷‍♂️ The funny thing is, they are worse than a Rex or Giga in a way 🤔😂

They are the ark Mobile equivalent of Thylacoleo

You can find these dinos in the redwood biome or snow biome. I had trouble finding them myself since they blend in so well and if they are up out of the ground they look like dire bears! Until one day I was going to tame a megaloceros and I knocked it out, the darn Purlovia snuck up on me and ate my tame! Always bring a bola and at least 10-25 tranq arrows, depending on your bow. Do not let these guy pack up as they will rip you to shreds. Best method I find that works is to climb on a rock or build a pen around it quickly and then starve it out before knocking it out, this way you don’t have to waste narcotics on the Dino. Use prime raw meat for 15%+ each piece! And if you wanted to know what they are useful for... HIDING YOUR STUFF AND BEING A MINE FOR PVP!!! (If you made it this far, I give you my last 180 words I have left...) The are all over the winter part of the island and can be found on the redwood

Just surprise them by a grenade XD

Get a shoulder mount, throw them ontop of the lump in the ground and watch the purlovia leap for them now knock it out

These things are nasty. I was just wandering the Red Woods with my Argy looking for pelt and all of a sudden I get knocked off my Argy thirty feet in the air! And then of course, terror birds kill me so then I request my Argy only to find out she has only 200 health left. Moral of the story, when roaming the Red Woods, keep and eye on your surroundings and always try to stay at least fifty feet in the air because these things can jump high.

On mobile, they have great knockback and can knock back a lot of creatures.

In case you didnt know they can spawn in aberration's red zone and scorched earth out of all places

If you run into 1 in the red woods lead it to a gallimimus and if your lucky he will chase the gallimimus

These are not really dangerous if they are unburied, but if they are buried, they will either stun you or your mount. It may not be a problem if it’s only the Purlovia in the area, but most likely it’s not only.

I was in the snow biome with my Royal Griffin, killing an alpha T-rex, when all of a sudden this thing jumped out and stunned my griffin. Nothing good came out of this, the griffin was killed by the alpha T-rex and a couple spinos and shortly after, I died too. Thankfully I had nothing valuable in my inventory, but my griffin died and there’s not much I can do.

Never fly low in the snow or redwoods unless well prepared for dismounting and stunning.
