I think it needs to be addressed that these birds are excellent at killing jellyfish. Their increase attack works on them. You one shot them.

These guys are amazing. They would be perfect if they would air-drop. I had one kill an argy, and he flew fast around it, pecking at it before the argy had a chance to kill him and over time lowered his health until he was murdered. Something any mid-game survivor needs in their tribe!!

One Pelagornis can get you SO much organic polymer if and only if you kill the non-adult Kairukus. On my rates (2× harvest and 2× resource hp) I got roughly 230 organic polymer from just one juvenile Kairuku. The fact it also has insane weight reduction for the poly makes it optimal, and while you might say "The dangers of the ice biome are on your tail," then remember that a Pelagornis can just sit on water, which is where most ice biome creatures fail due to their immensely slow swimming speed, so you always have a save zone.

Will gather much more polymer from baby kairuku than adults. Does not gather all that well from mantis. Better off using a wyvern or griffin killing mantis to get the most polymer or maybe start a baby kairuku farm.

They can sit on water and regain stamina, but be careful since hostile creatures (megalodons, jellyfish, piranha's, ...) will still aggro on the pelagornis.

Weight reduction for organic polymer does not work in the mobile version, unless it’s just me...

As a beach bob, piranhas killed me several times. All my gear sunk to the bottom of and I was unable to fect them before it all despawned.

Now whenever I need to fish, I land in the swamps with my Pela and just watch the piranhas die in masses.

Currently, at least for me, pelagornis organic polymer weight reduction and bonus gathering doesnt work. May be different for others.

Demon Seagull problems? Set to follow a passive Dino in your base and they're great at killing Ichthyornis! Sharper turn radius and faster flight.

Can hit fish from further than you think, and instantly harvest them.

Love these Guys. Currently playing Solo on the Lost Island. Had a lvl 60 pterodactyl and ditched it for the Seagull. Great for traveling across great expanses of water as you can rest between flying by landing on water or you can swim fast in water. Also what I like to do to level it up or kill OP dinos is lure the Enemy Dino into water where it's deep enough, so the attacking Dino's head is the only thing visible and then spam the attack button on Seagull until the Enemy Dino is dead. Works like a charm. Have killed Raptors, Paracers, Daedons, Trikes & Terror Birds so far with this method with my Seagull being a much lower level than attacking Dinos. Also, level up the weight on these things. Definitely better than the Pterodactyl IMO. Better weight and health per level.

These guys are found near beaches and sure, they're slower than a Ptera as an early game flyer, but far more versatile even later in the game for farming Organic Polymer.

They can rest on water to regenerate stamina and they do 10× their melee damage to small fish (according to ark.wiki.gg) while also instantly harvesting it after the fish dies... I say that's a fair deal

I LOVE the Pelagornis. You don’t even have to tame a high level one. If it’s like level 20 or something it’s still fine. It ain’t no argentavies but its weight is pretty dang good. Gets a like 3 or 5 times damage boost to fish (idk which is one it is) and it one taps them and harvests them in a single attack. It gets a little extra organic polymer too. It can land on water (which is actually pretty op if you think about it) and it can swim pretty fast. You can also fish off the top of it when in water. Also if you look down at an angle and spam take off you will actually go under the water. As soon as you stop, you will float to the surface so you won’t get stuck. All in all, the Pelagornis is easy to access (on the beach so safer than an argent, really common so easier than a tapejara and way better to than a pt), has op abilities (fish damage, landing on water ect), is a pretty good flyer (good weight, alright speed ect) and it’s so easy to tame! Just bola (if you need to), shoot and feed it raw fish or prime fish, feed it narcotics (or just narcoberries) and then it’s tamed! The Pelagornis Is also surprisingly good at climbing. I’ve scaled cliffs with one of these. I would level stamina, weight and health (with a little bit of damage here and there). In my opinion, the Pelagornis is a top-tier flyer. Land these on rocks and then make sure no animals are around if you get off, also make sure your rocks is accessible. If you stay on it, make sure its really high.

These amazing little buggers are immune to the evil jellyfish

You can dismount on water and collect pearls, get yourself a pair of flippers and fur armor. Can also kill any mega piranha with ease

These are, in fact, better than Pteranodons.

I love this dino. He can swim on the water very fast and load up stamina very fast. In the air is he too pretty fast. But he eat fish meat no normal dino meat. I think he is better than a pteranodon.

This is an absolute MUST HAVE! I had a pteranodon that died of starvation sadly, but after i've tamed a Pelagornis only then did i find out how much better they are. Easy to tame, fun to ride and all together an amazing flying dino. A good thing with these is that you can go onto water with them which makes them extra useful.

Make sure to stock up on fish before taming one of these guys, or at least have a place where you can easily gather them. This thing ONLY eats raw fish after taming!
