You can ride them without a saddle and if its a male you can use it to knock out creatures by headbutting which can deal 5 or more damage and will deal 3x the damage dealt as torpor instantly similar to pachys.

Tamed ovises also have an option in their creature menu that says slaughter and if you press this button with a melee weapon equipped it will definitely not instantly kill it like the "kill" option in old ark mobile but instead totally give the ovis an effect that makes it deal +1000% more damage and have +1000% damage resistance that definitely lasts for 300 seconds.

I'm currently in between redwoods/forest/swamp and found an Ovis. They aren't soley in the cold regions

So if you don’t have vegi cakes u can make a pen and put em in it.so to make the pen use 12 wood fence sapports 23 wood walls a wood door wood doorframe and no roofs. Use an argentavis and pick the sheep up n put em into pen. Careful using this on pvp especially if your not on rag cause other players can kill the sheep n fly off.but this will allow you to not have to feed them or chase em around when needing mutton I hope this helps

Don’t kill and harvest it, instead, hold a sword and hold the interact button (triangle for ps) and go to slaughter.

You will then get more mutton.

Finding one is the real challenge, they are a rare spawn and furthermore get killed quickly by predators thanks to their slow speed and shared spawn zones with wolves and boars.

Once located, use a strong agile mount like an Allo or Carno to quickly kill every predator around it to stop them from killing your rare tame, then simply walk up to it and feed it a veggie cake.

Better yet just use an eagle to carry them somewhere safe.

Ovis are rare to find on the Island, even though they have a large variety of areas they can spawn in. I personally have the best luck in The Southern Islets on the South East side of the map. As soon as you see one, make sure to grab it, as Ovis are very common prey for many of the Ark's predators due to their special meat, Mutton(which is what you will most likely want them for as well).

On Scorched Earth, they are an uncommon spawn in the Oasis areas, normally near the obelisks(I usually have found them near the Red Obelisk)

On Aberration, they are a semi-common spawn within the Fertile Zone, commonly known as the green zone.

On. Extinction, they can be found in the east end of the Tek City, and all over the Snow Proto-Ark

On Genesis 1, they are quite abundant in the Arctic biome

On Genesis 2, very common in the Eden biome

On Ragnarok, they spawn very frequently within the Highlands

On Valguero, look in the upper forest area of the map, just south of the North Eastern snow

On Crystal Isles, they spawn most commonly in the center of the map, with rarer spawns placed in most other biomes
