Chapter 2

- The Nazgûl

The battle went on for a minute or two longer and then one of the sides retreated. Alex, Jennifer, and Spark went to meet the victors.

“Hello, who are you?” Said their commander.

“How about you tell us who you are and what you are doing and maybe we will answer that.” Spark snapped back.

“Sorry, I guess you don’t trust me. Call me Joe. We are currently pushing back a band of soldiers from our enemies fortress.”

“Who is your enemy?”

“He has taken over part of this ark. We are fighting for freedom.”

“Well then, you just got yourself three new soldiers.”

“Thank you. When our quetz arrives, hop on and we will take you back to base.”

The base was small. Everyone carried a gun, wore riot armor, and carried at least one blade on them, whether it be sword or dagger.

“It appears there is a new form of weaponry.” Alex stated.

“You are not familiar with these weapons? We might as well get you practicing. What are your weapons of choice?” Joe asked.

“Alex likes range, I don’t care, and Jennifer here is the best healer around.” Spark said.

Joe called two soldiers.

“Take Alex to be given a sniper and a rifle. Take the Jennifer to be outfitted for a pistol and med-packs. Spark, you come with me.”
