I was trying to tame one of these boys once, but I didn’t know that they gave an effect called Mega Rabies. Long story short, I got the effect and died shortly after it was knocked out. One up = one F to pay respects

Straight from the land down under, but this time its a satan spiderman lizard, can climb walls, ceilings, got a deadly poisonous bite, and is a very powerful mount. Unlike the liopluerodon, this magical creature is actually worth taming.

Definitely a worth it tame they lose torpor very fast but can be affected by bolas. The spot I recommend the most to look for them is in the cave with the artifact of the hunter. There are sometimes a couple of them there if you find two that are near one another and one is a high level and the other isn’t bola or try to kill the low level ( the other will fall to attack you too if you attack the first one). Bring lots of tranq arrows and lots of narcotics. When riding the megalania you can use weapons they are decently fast and faster climbing. Has a fifty fifty chance of inflicting mega rabies to enemies if tamed. Definitely a great tame

So I was on ragnarok and saw a 140 megalania so o thought ooooooooo gimme dat so I got my cross bow and 113 tranquil arrows and shot one and only one.......THAT THINGS FASTER THAAN SANIC BUDDY BOI THERES NO OUTRUNNING DAT THING

Spiders cant climb walls in this game but this fat lazy looking reptile can, whats next? Argys that cant fly and penguins that will fly faster than wyverns XD

Knocked a level 5 feamale out with about 10 tranq arrows was not prepared for the speed of torpidity loss bring lots of narcotics

How to tame a megalania on fjordur:

(based on own experience)

Go to volcano island

You will need:

•A X bow or a longneck rifle, together with 20-30 tranq arrows or darts(i tamed it with arrows it was not that hard)

•A TON OF NARCOTICS, They wake up so goddaammm fast(i had nothing when taming mine, i almost killed w tranq arrows)

Where to find:

I found plenty of em in the volcano part where huge flows of lava go downstream to meet the sea, where there is a huge rock just before the oil lake.

How to tame it:

GET. THE. HIGH. GROUND.

its as simple as that. Find somewhere high and vertical so that the megalania doesnt get to you, never saw one climb before being tamed(maybe because im not that pro of a player) and i can almost guarante that with a few good hits, it can be very easily knocked out.

WARNINGS AND NOTES

Feeding it can be pretty tricky, i found that being next to it until it tames is the best choice, as tranq arrows can take a lot from megalanias health and is torpor drops uncannily fast.

This thing can climb on everything. Its better in climbing then the thylacoleo and a good mount to have

If you want to tame this creature I recommend that you keep a lot of narcotics😴 it takes less than 10 minutes for them to wake up ☠️ and try to kill you again 💀

When you have a couple of these on wander, and a couple protoceptadons(kangaroos) running around then a couple rhynios just flying everywhere, you now have an average day in Australia lol 😂

It doesn't seem to like leaving the cave, it'll sit at the entrance while you shoot it in day light

Looking to tame a megalania? Here’s a good way how to!; step one supplies! I recommend bringing lesser antidote as anytime it bites you u get mega rabies, antidote cures it, but it’s best not to get to close, I recommend tranq darts, bring 200 narcs, and also some kibble or some mutton, (prime works too) bring some decent flak armor as well because if your playing on lost island, you are going eithor to the redwoods or the volcanic oil deposit! I find my megalanias in the oil deposit they will be hanging arround the shores of the deposit, or in the redwoods, they live in a cave behind the waterfall assuming north west? Of the castle, well it’s somewhere next to the castle with the water fall that u go to, I never actually found any there but I figured you might wanna give it a shot? Ok here’s how to knock them; maintain distance, the only reason is if you get ambushed from behind if your too close to the megalania it will just bite u, so if you maintain distance it will give you time to get rid of the creature tryna impede on your quest, next make sure it’s aggro on you, shoot it in the head with your tranq darts until knock out. Look for any possible Dodics that it tried to kill and get rid of them, as they will still be aggro on the megalania, feed it mutton or prime, and occasionally feed it narcs (by occasionally I mean every 30 seconds or so). Congrats you have tamed this venomous lizard solo! But for what purpose? Here what they are good for!; Transport, arriving in style is always important for a survivor, also safety! Also a very good tame on pvp, as it’s venom even when tamed will get a enemy tribe mate infected witch will get his or her tribe infected with mega rabies, and the antidote is expensive! Pvp it’s a decent cave mount, of course it isn’t the best per say, but it’s a good idea to have in mind, also there eggs make good kibble! Thanks for reading and happy taming!

Don't even blink while taming.... it'll wake up....

In the new valentines update they changed the torpor decrease by half.

Ok this is gonna be a hard but worth it tame. Here's how I did it:

1. I had a lot biotoxin from killing cnidarias so make sure you have around atleast 45-50 biotoxin (it's not hard to get cnidarias are really easy to kill)

2. Make a trap! If this thing bites you.. you're fu**ed it gives you mega rabies if it bites you. If you don't wanna make a trap well, this thing IS affected by bolas! So you can bola it.

3. Put the biotoxin and taming food in it's inventory (I recommend mutton instead of the kibble because it's just a few second difference)

4. MAKE SURE TO USE THE BIOTOXIN WHEN THEY'RE TORPOR IS LOW THESE GUYS HAVE A TORPOR TIMER OF 3-5 MINUTES. THEY'RE TORPOR DRAIN RATE IS FAST TOO.

5. It's gonna be a slow process but once you're done it'll be worth it!

6. Enjoy your new partner in crime.

Pick it up with an argy and drop it in a wooden box. It’s head and tail can be shot with tranq arrows through the wall. Bam EZ tame. (Note, you need about thirty narcotic lololol)

Do not leave the cave when taming or it will respawn.
