Chapter 15

- The Nazgûl

The men were wearying. They held out hope that Spark would soon charge in and help defeat the enemy. They fought and fought. Nothing. They began to wonder if he just left or if he was killed. Suddenly, all the attention from the other side turned away. Spark had snuck around and attacked from the back. The soldiers rushed in to attack. The fight was over swiftly after that. The swamp had been taken. Everyone regrouped and rested. Except for Spark and the other commanders.

“Spark, when can we expect reinforcements to arrive? We need them desperately.” Said Chad, the leader of all the troops.

“I don’t know. I would expect a day or two.”

“That’s if they took it. What if they didn’t win in the highlands? Then all the hard work we have done is for nothing.” Brian said.

“Trust me,” Spark said, “they took the highlands. I don’t know how many reinforcements we will have. But I can say with certainty that they will come. But we will most likely have to take the canyon without them.”

“But how will we get to the top of the canyon? That’s where all the troops are. I never saw a path up there. We don’t have any fliers.” Chad said.

Spark pulled out a grappling hook. “We’re gonna do it the old fashioned way.”
