Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a gigantoraptor? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a gigantoraptor.
OK first thing you gotta do is either lure mother of a cliff or feed it a egg. While the mother is distracted be in nest and look down at it. Press Triangle is on ps5, should say hide in nest. Next wait for baby to approach you, it will jump for joy and flap is wings when it sees you, then it will do a emote and will start the mini game. Just rinse and repeat the mini game and it will tame. Very easy not hard at all.
How do you tame this beast
We have only 0
Use a Argentavis scan your surroundings to find a nest with a baby and parent and bring as much fertilized eggs as you can and a cryopod. Make sure your a good distance away when dropping eggs scatter them across each other then fly off a few distance away and watch the parent slowly leave the nest then get off your bird and hide in nest and start the taming process you must copy what the baby does when 3 prompts come up you must choose the one the baby does make sure you do it quick or youll miss your opportunity to. do this until finished taming if parent comes back hop out the nest and back onto your bird and drop more eggs. Note you wont have to do this if your taming a low level since high levels require more eggs other than that use a cryopod and fly away
To help as well, the egg has to be in sight line. Was in a rocky terrain and it just couldnt register behind the rock. Wyvern eggs were super helpful, and easy to get considering no one wants anything under a level and sacrificing 50s and stuff. To help reiterate a crucial tip i read above, delete rocks around the area and maybe aggressive creatures. I lost 7 eggs fighting for my life and ruining so much time i could be dance battling a baby. Leaving the area ruins the taming percentage so make sure you have all the boxes checked.
Just don't lose your cool and be patient. I did freak out when I first tried to tame it bc the mother would aggro on me all the time or just get too far away and it wouldn't work. So I killed any other dinos around that could be a threat to the mom, got more eggs, (Rex eggs, the best ones I have at the moment), and used an Argentavis to drop the eggs not too far away, just enough where I would be able to see the big bird. Used full ghillie suit. The mother eventually gets back to the nest even if she hasn't eaten all the eggs, then you have to get away, and wait for her to go back to eggs, and that's how it goes. The taming effectiveness won't go down if you get out of the nest, only if you get the minigame wrong. In my singleplayer that on 4x for taming, just 4 eggs were needed. It's a super fun tame once you get it right, and it's absolutely worth it. The babies are the cutest ever
Tamed a 145 with Low Level Poison Wyvern Eggs, it chews very long on one Egg ;)
All of these are false tips. You have to have a fertilized egg and multiples. 3 rock drake eggs didn't even tame a lvl 120 on 2x. I needed at least 8. Seems like alot of work for a simple creature especially when everything aggressive to you and it. Reapers are easier than this tame. It's ridiculous
You can trap the parent Gigantoraptor (unlike what most tutorials say), but you must make sure it can escape. Create a stone trap using a gate that it can easily get in and out of. Lure the parent into the trap, shut the door, do minigame with baby, then open trap and run, and repeat. This is a strategy I just tested, and it worked perfectly. You have to make sure the parent can return to the nest, so make the trap close by, but still out of aggro range of the nest so you can build it. Regular stone gates work, no need for behemoth.
Easiest way to tame a high level:
Tame a very low level (you’ll only need a few eggs)
Then you can kill a high level and imprint on its baby with your low level skipping the whole process!
I think you can take a Dino with high health and put it in stone gates with closed doors. To do that put an egg down and gates on you side when it comes over it will come for you but you are safe. Put the gate on the back of it and then the gate door. (I went out of render distance to stop it from attacking you). Then just do the same process. ( don’t need to blend in now) Then do the baby process.
So the eggs didn’t work on the ones I got. I had to wait for the parent to be fighting something and was able to sit in the nest. I don’t know if that’s normal or not but I was able to get two of them that way.
Bro thank god you don’t need fertilised egg. What you need(full gully. And an egg preferable yuti
**If you already have a Gigantoraptor then kill the parent and imprint with the one you have. **Note: YOU cannot imprint, you MUST imprint using and riding the adult one you have. Otherwise do the mini game. :)
You DON’T need ghillie! I’ve tamed multiple without it!
All you need is a fertilized egg to distract the parent, I’d recommend using stego or diplo eggs.
All you need to do is
1. Throw a fertilized egg around 25-50m from the nest (stego usually works for 1 minigame, diplo works for 3).
2. Approach the nest from the opposite direction after the parent notices the egg. Crouch once you’re close to the nest and slowly move towards it.
3. Hide in the nest and wait for the baby to walk up, then copy its dance move.
If you’re using stego eggs, you’ll want to place a new egg between every minigame.
If you’re using diplo eggs, get out and back into the nest and wait for the baby to come back (takes around 10-15s). You’ll want to place a new egg after 3 minigames.
When you’re going to place a new egg, get out of the nest and crouch, try to move very slowly until you’re completely off of the nest and get around 10m away before standing up. Repeat steps 1-3
4. Once the baby is tamed, RUN FOR IT, the parent will immediately become uninterested in the egg and may come after you and your new child!
Notes:
I’ve tried taming with and without ghillie armor, both have worked just the same.
I’ve tried taming with ghillie armor and no eggs, and I’ve never been able to complete a minigame. Even if the parent is a decent distance away, it aggros as soon as the kid walks into the nest!
Adult gigantoraptors aren’t aggressive once their nest breaks(a while after their baby is tamed or killed), but they will eat corpses, and if you harvest a corpse that they want then they will attack you. I find it best to kill them so that a new one can spawn with a baby, but if you don’t plan to be harvesting corpses near one then they can still be helpful for keeping the area more peaceful.
You don't even need a full Ghillie suit to tame these guys, I was missing the Ghillie shoes and it still worked like a charm. Amazing creature: fast, has different attacks, and has bonus for babies. Recommended tame!
Don't need eggs take a full grown Gigaraptor kill mom then riding use r3 babies bottles will show up put crossbar on baby h I t triangle will tame
READ THE WHOLE THING IF YOU WANT TO TAME A GIGANTORAPTOR please. So I did an oopsy by not whereing ghile but have no fear just make a stone box about 2x2 one door frame and two walls up just in case and make the ramp walk by the mom she will get angry then run into the trap she follow them leav through yo doorway place wood spike walls on the out side of it and get rid of the ramp now mommy is safley traped so you can kidnap her baby.
For everyone trying to tame one without eggs you need to tame one at night in full ghille. If you try during the day the parent will see you in the nest
Quick easy tame after having a gigantoraptor kill parent and use the gigantoraptor to claim don't gain as many levels but for quick females for breeding is great technique
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LOT OF FURT EGGS. Find the adult look for the nest and when you find the nest you need to distract the mama with furt eggs the bigger the better and hide in the nest and wait for the baby to come to you and initiate a capy what I did mini game there is spin bow and flap it will be random dn you have to be fast depending on the size of the egg you might get to copy's in then you have to stop hiding and walk away a little before the mama finishes the egg and goes to the nest to check them all you need to do is repet it and make sure your dino you came with is a good distance so mama doesn't agro mama has to be alive for the taming to work
