If you happen to have a Rhyniognatha you can easily destroy the hive with your primary attack as it deals a lot of damage. Weaken the bee nest and deal the final blow with a range weapon of your choice and fly out of render distance. Then you want to return and the bees wont agro onto you even at close distance. Wait for the right moment to jump of and quickly head towards the queen spamming the feed button.

If you fail just hop on your rhynio and repeat. Remember to keep an eye on the queen bee as you can loose sight pretty easy especially in the redwoods.

The key point is that the bee queen produces other bees even when it is not aggroed on you. The only way to realize if it is aggroed or not is to analyze its movement pattern:

When aggroed: it flies straight forward

When De-aggroed: it flies a small distance and turns left or right and repeats this pattern over and over again.

Taming step by step:

1. Destroy the hive and mount on a bird (Wyvern is the best choice because bees do not aggro on wyverns)

2. Keep your distance from the bee queen and just monitor its movement until it stops running away (De-aggroed) and is close to the ground.

3. NOW spary bug repellant on BOTH your BIRD and yourself.

4. Fly towards the bee queen fast. DO NOT LAND unless you are on a wyvern. Dismount your bird as soon as you can (the bee must be on the right side of your bird when you dismount) spam feeding button and YES you finally made it.

5. Get the hive find another bee queen to revenge previous failures.

The bee isn't tamable while she's aggro'd onto anything so keep your tames well away or cryo them. For best results, sprint up and spam the feed key. Also clear the surrounding area before going for the hive, or you know that random raptor is ALWAYS gonna f you up.

Passive tame. Use rare flowers. Take about 4-5. Use full ghille and bug spray. Even then the bees she summon may attack. She has a very bad view distance compared to other Dino's so stay close.

ALWAYS break the hive with ranged attacks. If you choose to melee it,drones will continuously spawn from it infinitely, and they will repair the hive, so best to shoot it down and kill all the drones before attempting a tame. Oh, and the queen will spawn more drones periodically, so bee careful.

To avoid wasting your time, if no bees come out when you attack or take honey, it means that there is no queen in that hive.

On the north east section of the island map, right near where the snow zone and tropic zones meet, there is a small natural bay. If you go inland from there you should see a small pathway that stays lower than the rest of the area. Inside that area are two spawns for giant bees that never seem to make a hive so you can easily tame them without the struggle of the hive.

Use Bug Repellent AFTER you break the hive with the Bear. No one ever said this and I’ve been taking aggro for years lol. It doesn’t work if it’s already applied before you break hive.

If you're playing on ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition, they are able to be tamed with 1 raw prime meat, so you don't have to waste your rare flowers or simple kibble.

Giant bees are a staple of cooking kibble or foods in ark because they produce honey, so here’s a guide to help you tame one, so you can efficiently produce it

1. Giant queen bees are found in beehives, which are most common in redwood forests. Look for them on the trunks of the trees, some will have a beehive a short way up. To get a queen be to spawn you need to break the nest (NOTE: not all nests spawn a queen when broken) which is best done with a rocket launcher, or a creature. The nest will release bees when attacked which can dismount you so be careful about killing them and killing aggressive creatures beforehand.

2. Once the queen bee spawns it will wander around the forest. I recommend running away to let it deaggro (do not go out of render or it could despawn) to tame it you must feed it rare flowers or simple kibble, whichever you can get easier works, from the last slot on your hotbar. 3. You can either run in full speed and feed it before it notices you, or use ghille and bug repellant to sneak up and feed it. The second way is easier but uses more resources.

If you want to tame one, the easiest way is to get a dire bear and break the nest, because they are immune to bees. Use it to break the nest, then when the nest beaks, make sure you have full ghille armor and bug repellent, and tame it with simple kibble. You can then go to the bee and press the 'aquire nest' button, and it will give you a bees nest. You can place this on any natural ground, but no human made floors. Put rare flowers into it, and it will produce giant bee honey over time. Rare flowers can be harvested from plants in the swamps across the island, but beware of the creatures that dwell there. When you go into your bees nest to gather honey, you will get the bee effect and start taking damadge, even though it is your own bees nest.

Apparently, you can tame free-roaming queens on the Switch! Simply don a ghillie suit and bug repellent, run up to her, and quickly give her a kibble. Just don’t aggro the drones!

The best way I’ve found to tame the. Was with a flying shoulder pet - Sinomacrops or Dimorph are best just don’t forget to turn off auto scream on sino.

Whistle your pet to attack the hive and run a ways away so you’re just out of render range. You’ll have to figure out the right range, but if you get far enough away the bees won’t spawn, and when the hive breaks the queen won’t run or spawn bees.

Desmodus actually is good for taming these just hit their nest and fly side to side and kill the workers then keep watch of the health once it’s low shoot it with a arrow and she should come out then just feed her 3 rare flowers.

2021- tried several times with past tips/videos to tame the queen bee. Such a nightmare lol. Only thing that worked was breaking the hive with my dire bear, eating a bug repellent, then crouching below the queen bee with regular kibble in my 0 slot. Finally worked!!

After a while trying to get the queen in order to avoid wasting time, I just shoot an arrow on the hive, if nothing happens it means there's no Queen. Move to the next hive. Hope it helps :)

To tame bee's now you must lose aggro first then apply repellent and crouch slowly to queen. Simple kibble works best and haz gear can be used in place of ghillie

When following the Giant Queen Bee its good to have a full set of ghillie armor, bug repellant and for some reason crouching seems to put you slightly below the drones hit range, as long as you keep moving that is. I used this tactic earlier today to tame my first queen and it worked very well

It can transfer servers but not in hive form. Hold whatever hotkey allows you to demolish hive. You can then cryo queen. It will transfer as a cryo’d tame. Once you take her out of the pod access her to create the hive for placement on the new server.

I found using a shadowmane that deals 2200 damage can one hit the hive then let it get out of agro range get off tame and run to it with rare flowers in hot bar spamming Y I'm on xbox still recomend using gilly armor and bug repellant tho but I tamed 12 in less than an hour only hard part was finding hives but thank the ark gods for YouTube lol
