You can also tame the wandering ones but you still have to wear guile

Certain hives can be found on cliffs around the island and these may well be easier to interact with when compared to the redwood hives.

Don’t go to red woods, go to green ob, they spawn right at the entrance in the little corridor. Usually not in a hive either, just flying or floating. still use ghillie and repellent if you have it. But what’s nice is that they don’t fly away due to the path being so narrow, they may fly directly towards you or near you, just line yourself up with their path and you should be able to feed the rare flower. Even if they start spawning drones try and feed it, I have consistently have found them there. It truly beats the headache of finding one in the red woods especially since you don’t always get one to spawn after breaking. This tactic really makes this tricky tame a 5 minute task!

NEVER break the hive with ranged attacks unless it is from a rocket launcher or tek rifle. If you choose to shoot it, you will waste alot of your ammo because beehives have a 65% damage reduction against bullets, and you should not try to shoot the drones that will continuously spawn from it infinitely, because they will not repair the hive, so best not to shoot it down and use a direbear because i'm gonna assume the beehive is close enough to you to give you the option to either melee it or shoot it like the other guy, it protects you from being dismounted from giant bees, and it has a damage multiplier that can make it do way more damage against beehives since it counts as a thatch structure. Oh, and the queen has a bug after it spawns from its destroyed beehive that will make it fly in a straight line infinitely until it is damaged or aggroed and most of the time this line is pointed away from the ground and towards the sky, so best to be close to the beehive the moment you destroy it so you can fix the queens ai by luring it with honey, instead of being far away enough that the drones won't chase you, because then when you destroy the hive and try to run up to the queen bee to lure it the queen will have flown far enough away that there is nothing you can do about it.

You can transfer to other servers if you cryopod it BEFORE you "obtain" it as a Bee Hive, you can cryopod it and transfer it, just obtain the hive once you throw out the Queen Bee.

C4 the hive. Then you only need to deal with one swarm of easily killable drones, and then taming the queen is simple. Just watch out for the drones she spawns.

Don't waste any anno. Simple whistle attack target for your argi and let the bird do the Job. Stay away until the hive is broken the follow the queen with flowers, ghillie and bug repl.

You can use a tent after the bee hive breaks put the tent over top of the queen bee then wait for it to not be agressive then remove the tent and instantly tame it

Used 13 dimorph, an Argy, ghillie armoor, bug repellant snd some simple kibble. Cake walk. The dimorphs destroyed the hive in secondsand took care of all the drones with minimal damage. Thinking of getting a second hive.

Use simple kibble to tame I found it a lot easier than using rare flowers

At least for mobile players: DO NOT LEAVE THE GAME WHILE TAMING!! THE BEE WILL RESPAWN!!

Wear a ghillie suit and use bug spray on your mount and yourself and just crack the hive open with an rpg. Proceed to feed the Queen. Easy tame 👍

I really struggled taming these things so here is my tip for low performance pc players:

Preparation: 10 Bug repellants, ghilli armor, 5 dimorphodons (sinomacrops are great too), taming food

1. Go to the redwoods. Once you find a hive, whistle the pack to "attack this target".

2. While your Dinos do their thing, go stand out of the drone's reach. They die after getting too far away from the nest. Observe the hive's HP with spyglass. Once it's just about to break whistle your Dinos to return and go passive.

3. Destroy the hive with a ranged weapon. The queen will fall out.

4. Quickly whistle "Stop" (the queen is afraid of tames), put on bug repellant, and follow her.

5. This is the tricky part. While she bumbles around, you have to quickly approach and feed her without aggroing the drones. I did that by walking by her quickly and spamming E. Don't let her out of your sight because she will dissappear once she's more than 40m away!! (it's not directly despawn but she will only be visible as long as you're in a close proximity) (yea this may be a low performance pc thing)

This is a VERY annoying tame but don't let that stop you! Eventually, you'll make it.

The best part of this thing is you don't have to lead it home you can just pick it up and it will turn into the hive

Hey I’m on old mobile and I can’t find a naturally spawning hive if you break a hive you made will a bee come?

On offcial, do not bother with any tactic other than use rockets to destroy the nest and then run out of render. After a couple secs use bug repellent and run to the tree directly under the nest and see if you can render the queen.

You may need a dino to get close enough. Queens can glitch into trees etc, if they do they are lost. When tamed they turn into drones and expire.

Once you spot the queen with repellent active either charge her spamming your action button with nothing equipped to hands and wild flowers in past hot bar spot.

OR crawle under her while your repellent is active and try to feed her. Personally I've hand sucess more with the gentler approach if lag allows. If lag is bad just run straight at her and don't stop untill ur out of render then turn and Come back doing strafing runs untill you get her.

Queens fly random directions includeing up and away. (If they fly up, give it a few secs at the edge of render and she will drift back down provided you dont antagonize her.) On 1x rates takes 2-3 flowers due to an update. It used to be just 1. For 1 flower insta tame now wait for 3x rates. During love evolved this year and 2x rates it took 2 flowers per bee.

Bolas do not actually work on the queen bee I threw 8 before I realized
