The Dung Beettle is awesome and crucial for fertilizer production. Keep the beetle in the corner of the main area your tribe has the most traffic again. I have my beetle next to our fabricator and Smitty in the corner with the door frame to get in and out to keep it full of poop. As long as there's players around it it produces more fertilizer just like the tames when they drop eggs around more people.

Phomias are good to get poo for the beetle but after getting my first wyvern (electric), who i named Breakpoint, just fly around and use your breath attack and then land and wait a couple seconds.

I was in the south cave when I entered and killed a scorpion I saw a dung beetle and started taming it when I decided to go deeper in the cave and died I now wave hello to him every time I go trying to finally get the hunter artifact fun fact: these guys only take 4 rotten meat so me and my pelagornis were surprised but I never see him again

Use ghillie armor and lay down when taming a dung beetle. It is a better way that having to make bug repellent.

Human feces is the most efficient as far as poo to weight ratio, it is 6x more effective than small animal poo, and the ratio gets worse as you go up in poo size. Use a whip to gather poo quickly from around your tames.

The dung beetle can convert poop into oil and fertilizer. To do this, place the poop in its inventory and set it on wander.

Make a pen set them on wandering put some diplodocus in there (or any dino that poops large) that's yourfertilizer farm

Shit yourself and feed your shit iv'e done it

Once tamed you can pick it up then hop on your bird of choice to move the beetles long distances in case you don't have a bird big enough to pick up the beetle

Large animal feces is the best for taming these on official don't lose taming effectiveness on your high level dung beetles

Where is the most common place to find dung beetles on the island?

A level 1 will produce the same as a lvl 150 so don't waste your time on a higher lvl unless you want some combat poop beetles

Adult dung beetles may also be picked up by procoptodons despite what Dododex says
