Here’s my method on taming: Put a few levels into health for your argy, maybe 1 or 2 into weight. Fly to a area pretty far from the pack, or maybe around a mountain. Create a 2x2 trap with 2 high door frames on each side. You can use wood, rather than stone, because they are a quick knock out, so they won’t be able to break it. Now fly back to the pack, pick up your desired wolf, and fly back towards the trap. If you fly at a very high angle up or down, they can’t hit your bird. Drop them in the trap, dismount and knock them out. Now you have a very nice meat gathering friend! (My friends level 50 dire wolf harvested 100+ meat off of a phiomia.)

Second most anoying creature in the game first being purlovia , 3RD being kaprosuchus. Nameless arent on my list just in cas pe you people are wondering.

wolves can't damage wood or fit through doorframes, so making a trap is easy. Just 4 wood foundations, surrounded by doorframes. I would suggest using an argy to pick one up and drop it in the trap, away from its pack, then tranq it in peace.

Use tranq darts or arrow when you are level 62

I saw one in the yeti cave,it's level is 550.my dire wolf is 452,and it's killed by the level 550.At the end,I also died in the cave

I was taming a level 40 Wolf and it said I needed 6 prime meat. And it only took three. There was also an alpha carno but I killed it and I now have my wolf

Build a raft trap go in the arctic and hit it white a brid and get it in and nock it out them feed it the boom you have a dire wolf

I started with about 3 fires, and then took my female out to get more only came back with another male and after about a week I have at least 13 dire wolves they make up most of my tamed! Love them! I have some with split states and some with points only placed into one thing so I have speedy ones, melee ones, health ones and some that have points put into different places they are all over level 70 and my highest level one is about level 140. Tame a male and a female get breeding, mutating and be unstoppable. And also you can shoot off the back of them so they are perfect for taming if you put some in melee, a lot in health and a lot in speed!

Get a direwolf. Then get Another. And Another. Then make a pack!

If u see a high level just bola it climb up a rock it can’t and shoot it with tranq arrows but after every shot wait 5 seconds to get the most efficient torpor and then feed it prime or normal raw meat away from anything that can harm you this strategy is best on scorched earth on ps4 nerf dire wolfs plz

If you are playing mobile and have several following you, good luck! The will get stuck in open fields. Follow distance doesn't matter. I've spent more time backtracking than fighting dinos as a pack

Their jump is really good. If you time your jumps perfectly as you hit the ground, you can do an even farther jump and go reallly fast, I call it bunny hopping. Good for escaping, but you won’t need to escape because a pack of wolves are almost unstoppable. They do a lot of damage if you do the pack howl!

Looking for a tame to escape situations fast, look no further. The dire wolf can litterally outrun almost anything. Mine outran an entire pack of Allosaurus with no sweat at all. An absolute must tame and packs a pretty good punch for exploring caves and not dying. Also does not require a saddle like the Sabertooth does.

Very easy and fast to tame one!! Get a pteranodon, some bolas, find a rock and shoot the wolf on the head (if possible) using tranqs :)

They don't need a saddle to ride,save ppls time, they are a simple knock out tame.but oh boy.. when you get a pack taming is a wild ride literally

Kill of all the wolves except the alpha and bola at least 2 wolves make sure to have decent armour because they do a lot of damage

(for mobile users) you want to tame higher level direwolfs than your direwolf that your tame in snow biome...Go to the Whitesky cave or the yeti cave... raptor or sabertooth (with or without fully imprinted) with higher armor is only way to kill the direwolf without damaging yourself and your armor...do not harvest the corpse yet. Access their inventory and take the creature implant and leave the cave. Next take the implant to the obelisk or the revival platform to revive but it cost acident ambers and then knock out using tranq or toxicant arrow to make it unconscious and take it using meat or carno kibble.once tamed, enjoy your highest level direwolf
