One Dire Wolf Or One Sabertooth? Can’t decide which ones more useful/Stronger

Tame & breed tons of these. Decent hp and damage but fast and with a pack very dangerous. Make sure to upgrade weight a bit because that stat is quite low.

I find it really easy to pick up the desired wolf with an argy and take it to a safe place and drop it not far from a rock where it cant get up so you can safely land your argy. Jump off the rock and bola the wolf and then knock it out, tame it and tadaa! You have a wolf. And then you can also safely carry it back to your base on the argy

I heared that they are good caving creatures but I’m terrified of caves so I giving mine an armor 350 flak helmet and I have full flak and a lot of shotgun bullets… wish me luck

There are very good things about dire wolfies!

1. They have no saddle, but that also gives tames armor so…lvl up ur wolf

2. They can have hats to become pirate doggo

3. (At least for me on Ark mobile) you can have two and that will be considered a pack, as I have activated pack leader on 1 of the 2

4. Fast runners and decent bite force

5. Excellent cave runners (I have heard, my lvl 21 and 16 dire wolves are too precious)

I made a taming pen and I get my argie to pick up a wolf and drop it in the taming pen and just stand on top shooting tranqs! - careful though you’ll have to constantly fly up high then down and repeat till you get back to the taming pen because they attack

I tamed one by getting a mount with a lot of health and letting the wolf hit it (but i play on easy difficulty so it was like lvl 10 or smth if theres a higher level one you should proabably bola it) then i used tranq arrows to knock it out and fed it raw meat

I love them for fighting and they good for getting chitin

Dire wolves were mostly black and gray in real life, not white

Make it better for bringing packs into caves, instead of them staying stuck in the entrance to the caves, up this so it can be seen!

How to not get killed by wolf bring a dodo with you every time you go to snowy biome and when you hear howling you drop dodo and run or dead (✖╭╮✖)

Lol I have a 466 wolf on midium server 1k and more merle 5k health I will tell how to get at 1000 ups

Tips in taming a high level wolf in the Island (Hard mode)

Prep:

•A good sword

•1500+armor with cold resistance (I have ascendant chitin armor lol)

•20-30 Ancient Amber (depending on the level of the wolf)

•Grapple (1 is enough but just add more to be sure)

•A long ranged weapon (just make sure it has decent damage and durability)

•Spyglass (to see the level, or you can just go near the wolf but that's just dangerous:)

•Bola (of course you will need this)

•Knockout weapons (tranqs)

•Taming Items (Prime or raw meat, Narcotics, and soothing balm if possible)

Steps

•Go to cave where the artifact of the strong is.

•If you can see some wolves, grapple to the icy ceiling.

•Use your sword while grappled if onycs are attacking you.

•Find the wolf of your dreams

•kill the other enemies in the area using your ranged weapon or sword if you want.

•When all that is left is your choosen wolf, kill it but make sure you don't hit its dead body.

•Check the dead body and get its "Implant"

•Go to an oblisk or revival platform.

•Prepare your bola, taming items and knockout weapons.

•Revive the wolf with your amber and ready to aim the bola.

•Bola the wolf when it's revived then do the taming basics.(knockout and feed)

•If all things go well, then you now have a high level direwolf

I tried a 600+ lvl male wolf and then it turned into a lvl 900 when I finished taming. I wasn't satisfied so I tamed another 600 female wolf, breed them and now I have a lvl 800 wolf with 10000 base HP and 1000% base Melee damage.(It's not much but it's fun cuz I play PVE)

Breed them and especially if u want good colours breed event ones or ask someone if they can breed 1 for u and u imprint it they are really insane fully imprinted so IMPRINT THEM

I have 167 with 4789 hp and a 194 with 2078 and 200 attack per hit

I love these guys for starters you don’t need a saddle to ride them and you can have lots of them if you what an army

I see a lot of comments bad mouthing smaller mounts for combat, doesn’t really make sense to compare a small mount with a red for one you cannot shoot from a rex or hide it during combat or a raid, two a rex cannot run as nearly as fast as a wolf 3 doesn’t take a saddle doesn’t mean it’s useless try hitting me with your Rex while I sprint off turn around and snipe you off the back a passive Rex dies where he stands an neutral Rex dies in a trap, try out running a wolf good luck

Packs are a need for pvp servers.
