Amazing and easy to tame. You can bola it, no saddle required, and on single player you don’t have to give care. One is great, but a pack is simply awesome for almost anything! Tame it ASAP!

You can't tame any dire wolf in yeti cave

All you need to tame a bunch of these mean dogs is an argy and a taming pen. 3x3 wood foundations, 2 walls high on 3 sides, and then stack doorframes. Easily snipe the wolf with crossbow.

I saw 3 wolves fighting with 2 rexes .

The Direwolfs found at the Cave Of The Strong at the north are tameable btw...I tamed 3 of those and oh boy, I can destroy everything I see, anything except something stronger like Giga.

Build a pen and use a argentavis and bring it back and drop it in and knock it out and you got

On mobile, you can get a super-high-level direwolf from the hard snow cave.

1 *Kill a direwolf*

Enter the cave and get a pack of wolves following you. Then retreat to the first room of the cave with the water pool in the middle and run around it. If you are fast enough, The wolves will try to run straight at you and fall into the water. There you can easily shoot them.

2 *Revive the wolf*

... at an obelisk or at a resurrection platform. This costs amber, on hard mode a lvl 590 wolf costs 32 amber.

3 *Tame the wolf*

You really dont need fancy buildings for this. Just revive it, run a bit away, then bola the wolf. You will only need one bola if you shoot it with the blue shock arrows on a Compound Bow (again, these you will find at the snow cave from tributing the artifact).

4 Enjoy having a super strong wolf. In the cave, they spawn at almost double level (so if your normal max level is 300, you will find 590 ones) and when tamed they gain even more levels. If you tame a 590 lvl wolf with calming balm he will need two prime meat and get 294 additional levels FOR FREE.

This is how I try to tame direwolves:

1. Bring my Iguanodon to artic.

2. Find a lone direwolf.

3. Lead it back to the warm climate.

4. Escape with my iguano.

5. Come back alone.

6. Bola it.

7. Knock it out with fists.

8. Feed it raw meat if its knocked.

9. Wait.

10. Make sure I have Bio Toxin.

11. Kill more dinos for meat.

(Hint, and help: The more food you put in, no matter how much effect it has, the process will be a tiny bit quicker. KNOCKOUT TAMES ONLY).

12. Feed direwolf ALL meat.

13. Hope it will tame and nothing disturbs it.

14. DEMOLISH ALL RAPTORS IN AREA... (Revenge for my poor still taming argy, who was killed by a stupid raptor...)

15. Repeat process if you want a tamed direwolf pack.

(The only reason I want to tame a dire wolf is because of my dog, Breese IRL.)

If you see a pack run while you still have time. These wolves are vicious and will tear you or your mount or both for that matter to shreads in a mear matter of moments

The best way to tame a dire wolf is to separate 1 or 2 from the pack

it can jump and sniff out explorer notes and you don’t need a saddle

They have strength they have speed they have durability they are functional they are terrifying thank God they can't fly

Make a little trap carry with argy ( it can still attack your argy so give it high health ) then drop in a trap.

No need to worry about the pack just pick the leader or the one you want.

Once you have three you get a pack bonus and a leader bonus for highest level wolf

in the cave of the strong if ur on easy mode and want a high level wolf find a high level, take its implant as u cannot tame it in the cave, revive it, knock it and boom. Well done u just got a high level wolf.

My method of tame, stone dino gates, use an argy or similar carry size to pick up and put in pen, stand on gates and tranq. Gg, no re
