They CAN be ridden, you just don’t need a saddle, If you click the saddle button. They’re good at collecting pelt and if you tame multiple can be more deadly than a couple of rex.

Ever need a TON of chitin take a imprinted high level dire wolf into the swamp cave ( my wolf has 658.6% damage and 3353.3 health) since dire wolf collects chitin hide and pelt like a beast it is perfect for the swamp cave with high health and damage will clear the cave and get you the artifact (level up weight as well as stamina alongside health and damage chitin stacks super heavy) make sure to take stimulant and watch torpor good luck

If your looking for pelt it would be best to let your dire wolf harvest the pelt. Dire wolves harvest more pelt than you. You can harvest pelt from beavers/casteroides.

We all know that the Dire wolf is powerful right? Well When traveling this Furry creature can travel far distances. If you were to travel the Dire wolf would be one of the best choices to use.

When you encounter it, usually it howls and a orange sprite comes out of it. It probably howls to bring more wolves.

Get another player and 2 argentivis pick it up make sure health is good and drop close to other player.done.

The best area to find them is near the blue obelisk (aka the ice place) get some meat and your tranq gun, they always come in groups of 4 so knock them all out and you now have a mini direwolf pack

Level up health, damage and stamina and you will have a mount that can kill everything (Tested with direwolf lvl 60 and bronto lvl 4)

Find them around Whitesky peak, then grab with an argy, and take it away from it’s pack so you can tame/kill it. An all around great mount and companion.

This tame can sniff out burried reaper kings and purlovious (however you spell it) would suggest bringing 1 on raids instead of a parasuar to detect them

Bolas can snare making taming easy, no saddle needed, live birth so no acs needed to breed. All these together make this tame an amzing first tame that can help your tribe move up quickly.

If you tame one and its a higher level than any of your other dinos, and you have five or more dinos, it will get a temporary pack bonus everytime it kills something with your dinos help

If you want to tame a bunch of these, I recommend finding a high rock or cliff and using a bola on them, it's super effective if you want to tame the whole pack!

Get a good opposite gender pair and breed them. They're much better with imprint bonuses.
