Stories Tips
What are some stories about the dilophosaur? Memorable dilophosaur stories, wild encounters, and fan fiction.
Once I had a Dilo that I named Frilly, and somehow thought it was a good idea to kill a spino when I just started the game. I had 8 spears they were all used up and the spino wasn’t chasing me which I thought was weird but just ran. Then I got a message in the chat saying “Your Frilly (Dilophosaur) has been killed by a spino). Also she was the highest level one I ever had at level 43, so that is why the spino was not chasing me, 1 like = 1 RIP for Frilly
I had two dilos one was uno lvl 10 other one was called lil they were male and female uno was female and lil was male i would bring them on missions until i was killing a raptor when uno laid an egg and lil was the father the next day i saw lil trying to escape his pen he probably wanted to get milk but luckily i got him back to his pen
I had a female dilo named Toxiceita, and I had lost her to a trio of wild dilos. I avenged her and killed the three. Long later I tamed a lvl.23 male and named him Venom. In fact I did this literally 5 minutes ago so I don’t have a story to tell about him. Anyways, give an up for poor Toxiceita.
I got jumped by a Raptor when I was farming for materials(first ever encounter with one) and my dilo(Quicksilver) was quick to step in by spitting on the raptor and drawing its attention away from me to itself. I was still really low level at the time so all I could really do was run because the raptor was kind of a high level for me and my dilo, the last thing I saw was the raptor pinning my tame on the ground and I thought he was dead for sure and I had accepted it so I ran leaving him behind to fight the raptor. He was my first ever tame so I was kinda bummed out. Things went on normally, I leveled up here and there even went as far as having tamed like 4 dilos at this time but they all ended up dying. A couple days had passed and I was farming for materials when all of a sudden I get attacked by a raptor and I'm on the brink of death starving and dehydrated. The raptor jumps on top of me I think I'm done for but all of a sudden something pushes the raptor off of me and I look up to find Quicksilver fighting it and to my surprise he's level 120 all of a sudden. I used my bow and arrow to assist him but I couldn't get a shot in because they were behind the bushes half the time but he managed to kill the raptor with little to no help from me then when I was running to him full of happiness I get attacked by another raptor and it's a high level but Quicksilver steps in once again and kills it after a fearsome battle. The raptor even pounced on him and pinned him to the ground and they both fell of the little Cliffside next to us it was so cinematic. I was so shocked as to how a dilo was able to have two fights back to back with raptors and stil be alive with half of its health. He's chilling in my base rn and I treat him like a king 😂
Acid the Dilo part 23
“Awwwww” I said as I looked down at tiny Cobra. Her proud parents, Acid and Sniper, stood behind her. Cobra started to run off but Acid hissed at her and she came back. “It’s ok Acid. Let her go play. I want you to come somewhere with me.” I said. Acid nodded and began to follow me. We walked slowly across the “yard”. Side by side. We didn’t walk tentatively or continuously glace over out shoulders like we had in the past. No, we new we were safe. One of my moschops ran by followed be my otter Pebbles. I smiled at them as they played, not worrying about their safety. “What an adventure we’ve been on, right Acid?” I began. Acid looked over at me and nodded again, a suspicious look on her face. “We went from cowering in the dark under a rock together...” “Well you cowered. I stood watch” Acid interrupted. “Ehm. Acid just listen.” I replied slightly annoyed. “Fine, please continue.” She said with a sigh. I cleared my throat and continued “Any ways we went from cowering in the dark, to fighting massive Theris and Carnos. We have journeyed all around this area. We’ve had laughs and we’ve shead tears. We’ve made friends and lost loved ones.” Acid looked down at the ground sadly. We both thought of the same Dilo. “It’s been fun.” “What are you doing?!” She finally asked. “I’m making a dramatic heartfelt exit for our readers!” I said back. “You mean the stories ending!” She replied in disbelief. “Well it’s been going on for a while and I just thought...” “No!! I’m not done yet. The stories barely begun! What about the Arctic! What about caves, dungeons, and bosses! What about my daughter Cobra! I still want to do so much.” Acid exclaimed. “Well...” I trailed off. To be honest I wasn’t sure what to do next. I still felt like such a noob. And surely people were beginning to get bored of the same old story plot, I mess up and Acid rescues me. Then it came to me. At the end of a book the characters don’t disappear, they move on and continue, the end of a story isn’t the end of the characters, it’s just where the reader leaves them. And that’s what I’m asking you to do. Acid is still here. In your heart and in my ark world. But it is time for her to leave and continue to adventure with out you. So good bye dear reader. It’s been an adventure.
I had a Dilo named Point who was Level 200 (I was playing on Hard difficulty) and I was just chilling building my base until the game spawned in a Level 80+ Raptor (I forgor the level) and It was close to my base (AKA my progress) and so, with a reliable bow, a few bolas and I decided to draft Point into this, we went into battle and as I went on shooting down the raptor for afar, Dilo was in the middle of the fighting biting against the Raptor and even getting pinned down, I thought that they should’ve been low and died when they got pinned but it survived when we had finished fighting off the Raptor and it had only lost a bit of health, Respect to Point, and respect to other Dilos out there
When I first started playing Ark on my Xbox, my dad wanted to play. He had just started and tamed a dilo named Pickle. Sadly, we spawned near the swamp on the beach to the east of the island, so when my dad logged off, he left Pickle nearby that swamp, and I came back to see her fighting a sarco. It didn’t end well. My dad was sad so I started playing Ark Mobile and tamed Pickle II-she is still alive today.
Let’s be honest here, this was probably the first aggressive dino you tamed. Maybe you were scared of them before getting ranged weapons. You probably kill them with ease now. Maybe you still have the first dilo you tamed, or maybe it died. I still have my dilos, Spitty and Dinny, with me. They’ve been with me since the beginning, and I love them.
The Orinthian Knight: The Broodmother’s Awakening P2
Foreword: This currently takes place 3 years after the flashback of something like that. The Overseer had changed Dilo’s size to two-meters to help him disguise himself.
3 years (7 dilophosaurus years) later - Location: Scorched Earth ‘Drydune Inn’
The dunes of the Scorched Ark have not changed since it was first raised off of the now-deserted planet Earth. Few survive in the sands, even fewer being people… Yet no one expected a two-meter tall hooded Dino to walk into one’s building.
Drydune Inn was a quaint little building located on a sand dune just right next to an oasis. It is said that someone built it out of a Rock Elemental’s body. The current owner of the Inn was a Thorny Dragon that it’s owner had taught to stand upright and even speak. The owner had soon disappeared, leaving the Thorny Dragon to run the place by himself. He had served many customers that wandered the Ark, yet didn’t expect a ‘supposedly a dilophosaurus’ of all dinos to enter, much less by itself.
Dilo had been given an implant that changed his size, allowing him to sneak into crevices and buildings that most of the Overseer’s minions cannot. He had crafted clothing made of the scales of a Sarcosuchus that had proved a worthy fight for him, and strapped in a hood to cover his head. His years of training allowed him to use weapons to defeat his enemies, primarily a pump-action shotgun.
“You.” Dilo approached the Thorny Dragon, aware that someone could attack him at any moment. “You have any jobs going around here?” He had asked.

Protectors of Pandora
Chapter 9 ~a very rude meeting~
The wolves asked if Ping could go catch some more fish and he agreed, Ron went along with him to get some berries, as he doesn’t eat fish, when they had gathered enough food they made their way back to the cave, when they got back the wolves greeted them politely and then they ate dinner.
When they were to the point of dinner were everyone was full and was talking rather than eating, the wolves listened to the story of Pandora, Ron and Pings telling of it (wile not as good as Nashes) still seemed to peak the interest of the wolves, they asked the occasional question and laughed at Pings expense, but they didn’t talk much other than that, by the time the story had reached the ascension and separation of the group George and Evelyn were both crying, -for some reason..- “uh why are they crying? I mean ya it’s sad but not that sad I think they’re fine.. where ever they are…” Ron said. “They’re sad because, well, we know a thing or two about the loss of friends.. you see this pack of four was once a pack of five..” Sir Charles said. “Oh.. what happened to them.” Ping asked. “It’s a long story.” Charles said. Then they heard the sound of something large knocking on the stone outside the cave. “Ugh what now!” Richard said. “You two stay here! It’s best if they don’t know about you.” Charles said in a hushed tone. The wolves ran out through the secret door and closed it behind them.
Ron and Ping went up to the door and listened.
“What do you want..” George said.
“Oh hush you. Don’t want to step out of line and end up like your friend do ya?” A voice said.
George growled.
“Oh do get on with it! What do you want!” Charles said.
“The queen has requested we take the monthly tax.” Another voice (much deeper than the first) said.
“We already payed this months tax, and we haven’t barely got enough food for ourselves as is!” Evelyn said.
“Oh?? You did did you? Oh no! Someone must’ve.. mistaken it for dinner…” the first voice said.
“You filthy scoundrels!” Sir Charles barked
“Ah ah aah, don’t want to do anything you’ll regret do ya Charles?” The first voice said.
“It’s “sir Charles” to you dog!” Richard said.
“Not anymore, new queen new knights, and that’s us.” The second voice said.
“That’s not even how it works!!” Evelyn yelled.
“Bahh who cares anyways just give up the food already!” The first voice said.
“Fine..” Charles said.
Then they heard the sound of a stone being moved, and something handed to the first speaker.
“Eh keep the bugs.” He said.
Then they heard the bugs being dropped on the floor and the sound of paws padding out of the cave.
A few minutes after the wolves reentered the secret room.
“Those guys sound.. nice…” Ron said.
Sir Charles looked at him with a look of annoyance and anger, “yes.. another long story..”
Jurassic Park: Death of Denis
In the jungles of Isla Nublar, a Jurassic Park jeep is stuck in the brush. Rain pours down from the black, starless sky as Denis Nedry, who just cut the power to the park (leading to almost all of the assets escaping), tries to get his escape vehicle out of the shallow mud hole. Since pushing it clearly wasn’t working, he took the wench, trudged down a light muddy slope, and went to attach the wench to a nearby tree. As he was wrapping it around, a high pitched warble could be heard from the bushes right next to him. Out jumped a small dinosaur with twin crests on its head.
“Oh, oh I thought you were one of your big brothers. Your not so bad, your not so bad. Nice dinosaur.” He climbs back up to his jeep. Half way there he stops, and turns around. Its right behind him. “Ugh.” He picks up a stick. “Hey you want the stick?” He starts waving it around. “Stick? Stick? Stick Stupid.” He throws the stick. “Fetch the stick boy! Yeah! You like the stick?”
It does nothing. “Eh, no wonder your extinct.” He starts walking towards the jeep once more.
“Im gunna run you over when I come back down.” As he was almost at the jeep, he trips and falls forward. He turns over on his side, and the dino is right in front of him. “What now?” It opens its jaws revealing roughly 60 razor like teeth. Two large fins unfold from its neck as it starts shrieking. It then spits a blob of black goo on his chest. “What the…!” He stumbles to his feet and makes a break for the jeep door. before he opens it, he turns around one more time. He takes a gob of black venom to the eyes. “AAAHHH!!!” He hurries into the jeep. Breathing heavily he attempts to activate the wench. He turns to the front passenger seat, to find the dinosaur was sitting right next to him. “No NOOOO-!!!” His screams of terror went unheard however, as the dilophosaurus feasted upon its victim.
The Orinthian Knight: The Broodmother’s Awakening P3
Foreword: Lol I have not posted ima long time but here is another chapter bluds.
The thorny dragon was confused. How. He had already dealt with thugs and bandits, raging sandworms and hypocrites that worshipped the Manticore. Now there was a talking DILOPHOSAURUS, in the middle of nowhere.
“Good sir,” Drydunes replied in response to Dilo, “May I ask you, what are you searching for, exactly. You appear as if you came a long way.” Dilo had not responded for a while. Then the lone warrior handed Drydunes a tattered, old paper, still in good condition somehow. It consisted of a picture of a dark, 3-dimensional small pyramid with what appeared to be a Survivor implant inside, as well as some background information, which read:
“The key to finding a lost entity of great power, meant as a test for any that dares attack her.”
Drydunes thought about it for a minute, then answered, “I do know one place with something that looks like that. Well, a map that leads to it of course.” Drydunes attempted to sound as confident as he could, but he was trembling inside and just wanted the situation over as quickly as possible. “Show me.” Dilo said.
A few minutes later, Drydunes had packed up for a short journey, asking his childhood friend to watch over the place while he was gone. “This is of utmost importance, old friend. I need you to watch over this old inn while I am gone. And if you see any thugs trying to shoplift, kick them in their pants.” And he was gone.
To be continued
Tamed a male and female, male was level 40, female was level 30. They took down a pack of raptors, I knocked a level 50 out, tamed it. Now I have 5 Dilos and 1 Raptor in my travel parade. I lost all my tames prior due to a Rex attack, decided to leave that area, find new tames, and get revenge. I have a higher chance, let that Rex try again.
No, but seriously, with these dinos by my side I feel the safest I've ever felt. (I have been playing this character for 3 yrs.)
-To the author of the Orinthian Knight
Impressive story! The backgrounding and detailing is somewhat exceptional and fanatical at the same time, with interesting characters and highlights. What it needs though is some more character dialogue and it will be a great story for all to see.
