ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Utility Tips

What is a deinosuchus used for? deinosuchus battling strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Absolut unit of a creature, great bite force and its mega bite is super powerful, it can easly chew through bosses even alpha when properly leveled, i dare say even Dragon as it can go under its belly and can't be hit by the fire breath, though i'd suggest using Tickle Chickens still.
As for utility ? Its not that slow on land (around Rex speed) can turn on itself, and bite behind it, take this into account plus its sheer power and you got one of the strongest tame. Underwater ? Really fast and still within the strongest, can easly kill the strongest creatures and farm underwater caves. Finally you can shoot from its back, making taming easier.
This is a super strong dino, Much like a Rex in terms of stats and stat increase per level. Giga bite on official with 660melee does over 1800 damage. I have used one of these to kill mosa, plesi swarms, tuso and alpha tuso.
It has excellent utility as you can use weapons when riding this dino, Both on land and underwater, it is much slower on land but about on par with the Rex walk speed when sprinting, perhaps a little faster.
They also have pretty good weight too making it ideal companion game when farming with an angler ect.
This beast can also turn on a dime with a speed that puts most reining horses to shame, The tail gives a decent amount of knock back too.
Using a breeding pair of these (mutton tamed) with 70 arm saddles levelled to almost 700md with 15.3k hp to get to wave 5 on an alpha element node on extinction, if you bring a daedon youโll be laughing ๐ซก Fox
You can use metal billboards to trap this creature. Then leave to de aggro this beast and return with your best taming food on the taming hotbar.
They're extremely useful for taming, because they're roughly as tough as a rex yet you can actually shoot while riding them.
Only problem is they're not very fast on land, so if something runs you're not keeping up.
Is anyone gonna talk about how if you have them imprinted with saddles the boss fight on the center only takes about a minute?
Growth calculator is a bit messed up at the moment. 4hrs 16min (250min) to get to 10% on 2x (official), not 2.5hrs.
If the tail glitches underground walk down the tail and you will go under the map
Great creature to tank damage while you saddled up on it. You can shoot from its saddle.
Deinosuchus VS Sarco! Who will win?!?!? Overall speed: Sarco! Strength: Deinosuchus! Starting stats: Deinosuchus! Coolness: DEINOSUCHUS!!!!!!!! The results are in!!! Deinosuchus wins!!!!!!! ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Use superior kibble and ghillie. When you find one you want to tame, make sure everything around it is dead (other deinosuchus can be left, but itโs more dangerous if they are left). Put on ghillie and watch until it lays down, body straight, and opens its mouth. Sprint to its mouth (directly to its mouth) and feed it, then sprint away. In full ghillie it wonโt notice you for a few seconds as you sprint toward it or away before and after feeding. Once away, crouch and watch it, itโll move a few meters and walk a little bit before laying down and basking. Rinse and repeat until tamed. If something it can kill is nearby it will aggro and attack it. Do not be afraid of it closing its mouth after you feed it, itโs canโt deal damage. Itโs a really easy tame. Itโs stronger than a Rex and has no oxygen.
The tailwhip is able to damage all types of structures. It won't give a hit marker but they can destroy tek.
The tip of the nose has a pretty big damage reduction so you can kinda soak with it lol
An excellent mount for the hard underwater cave. It can stealth through most of the cave by staying close to the ceiling, and go on land without aggroing anything there.
When fighting, make sure you turn the croc's head towards the enemies to halve the damage your tame receives.
Can they go in boss arenas?
So Iโve come to learn that these guys are insanely OP, and wanted to include a few in my boss army. So I started breeding them.
Word to the wise though: they eat an insane amount of food when theyโre being raised. I think I had 2 carnos and 5 deinoโs with 6 full troughs of cooked meat.
They didnโt even last 12 hours. 2 of the crocs and 0 of the carnoโs managed to survive. So just keep in mind when breeding: for whatever reason they need a ton of food. More than a Rex seems like.
Giga bite can take out anything
Boss and alpha tuso, mosa killer. HP and DMG like rex but Giga bite bleeds alphas and destroys bosses. Not allowed to overseer fight (teleport killed 10 and I had to fight just with yuti, pig and 8 theris ๐๐๐)
Rhyniognathia can pick these up I donโt know why Dododex says otherwise. I carry mine all over the map to kill alphas
LISTEN!!! These are better than Rexes and spinos combined, hear me out.
Number 1: They donโt have an oxygen stat which means they will get extra lvls into other stats like melee and health.
Number 2: They have the giga bite which does something similar to the bleed from giga and thylas.
Number 3: They are easy to find and tame because they spawn near rivers and the swamp plus they are passive tamed with superior kibble which can be made with moschops eggs/large eggs.
Pronunciation mate here!
It's die-no-suck-us
If you're ever doubting their titanosaur killing abilities, don't. They can eat titanosaurs for breakfast with their crazy overpowered "giga bite"
Want to tame them to try? Here's how.
First of all, I'm currently playing ark ascended and for some odd reason their built-in game variant require you to be lvl. 70 to feed and tame.
If you wanna go in without preparation, you can, but it will take a lot of time, also, don't feed it raw meat, it'l take ages. I'd recommend prime meat or mutton, or, of course it's favorite kibble if you can make it
If you do not want to grind for kibble, then it's ok. As long as you have a dino that can kill everything surrounding the deinosuchus, you're fine (the things you should be killing are ones that you can get prime meat from.) They live in the swamp, and swamps have a lot of dinosaurs that drop prime meat.

Ok, so for this, I'd advice you use ghillie, but if you don't have ghillie, it's alright!
So, when the deinosuchus is basking (opening it's mouth wide) go to its head. don't be scared, it has horrible aggro range when it's basking. It can't even detect you if you're crouching. Then you should see a text pop up saying "feed [taming food]" Or something on the lines of that, or simply, if you see a cyan text pop up while you're near it's head spam E. Repeat this till you get a deinosuchus.
Now that was boring. Everyone knows how to tame one. Easy. Feed and run. That's all.
BUUUT I'll tell you a fun fact: Deinosuchus had a bite force rivaling the t Rex, or hell, even beating it. With a bite force of ~23,300 PSI. Making deinosuchus literally have the strongest bite force of all time, also their tail swipes in ascended can send baryonyxes and kaprosuchus flying. Try it out.
Also, here's how you can tell when it's about to bask
I'm in ark ascended, so this might differ in evolved.
But 1:It stops moving, it lays it's body flat
2:Its head kind of looks at you, or looks away from you. ORR it's head moves to the left/right, this happens at almost the same time it stops moving
3: You can hear this kind of far away, but it hisses
Also. If you see saliva while it's basking: as said by the other guy: IT'S A TRAP!
