Utility Tips

What is a deinosuchus used for? deinosuchus battling strategies in ARK: Survival Evolved.
I was once afraid of titanosaurs until I tamed this monster. Me and my friend are playing on a non cheat world and tamed 2 145 deinos and they ended up being lv 214. We bred them and got imprinted ones and took them out to fight a titanosaur (I didn’t think it was a good idea but my friend told me we got it). So we both mega chomp it and run. Turns out the broken bones debuff they apply does the same amount of damage the mega bite does every half a second and the titanosaur died in just 2 hits. He gave our deinos 40 levels and we are no longer in fear of titanosaurs.
This thing is awesome!! Surprisingly fun and easy to tame. When it chases you with its mouth open like a baby bird its so silly, just dont get bit! This thing is a beast on land and the sea, swims pretty fast and you can coast on the surface without diving. Even stand on the back if need be. 10/10 totally recommend taming this massive beast. Im from Florida and i approve this Gator 👍
I won’t recommend the deinosuchus over the basilosaurus but I’ve been using these guys to go into the underwater caves on the island and have found success in getting their artifacts. If you try these guys out, make sure their stats are good, they’re imprinted and give them the best saddle you can manage. While in the caves, kill any jellyfish that get too close before they stun you, use the maga-bite to help clear out swarms of creatures, DON’T aggro any dunkleosteus at all cost and avoid the Xiphactinus if you can help it! Do this and you should be fine.
I used to be afraid of the ocean biome in this game. But after getting this bad boy??? NOT ANYMORE.
Say hello to your brand spanking new and indispensable sea mount! This creature is no joke at all. That giga bite is also not to be trifled with and can be used to DEVASTATING effect. I have been caught in the middle of swarms of Megalodon and Plesiosaurs multiple times and this animal hung in there and took care of them pretty dang well. Deinosuchus can and will kill Mosaurus as well but watch out for those high level ones of course! This mega gator also dispatches alphas pretty easily (Alpha Raptors are a nonissue but it takes way more effort to kill a high level Alpha Meg though. Proceed with caution!).
I recommend pumping up health and melee and maybe some weight especially if you’re doing any expeditions and away from your base for a bit. The higher the level you can find, the better! My strongest one has around 70k+ health and around 600 melee and he is the goat.
Tldr; Wildcard, please NEVER nerf this thing.
Had a strong melee and tail whip. Has a super strong charge attack that des great damage. Stats scale well too!
This mount provides you with oxygen like the Diplocaulus. If you dismount this Dino in the water, it’s highly suggested to have it in follow or it will resurface.
It’s a passive kibble tame (superior). While on land, wait for it to lay and open its mouth (basking) sneak up and feed. Then run away as it will aggro. Let
It reset and repeat
Helps to get the info out there!
This is an absolutely amazing tame to have at any stage in the game.
To tame you just have to get ghille and sneak up on it while it sunbathes. They just put the food in its mouth.
Once tamed it has incredible health, and damage.
The normal bite is very powerful but if you charge up a giga bite, it will do over 3 times the damage.
You can use them for underwater travel as well as exploring the swamps.
Overall I really recommend getting the giant gator, trust me you’ll love it

Use superior kibble and ghillie. When you find one you want to tame, make sure everything around it is dead (other deinosuchus can be left, but it’s more dangerous if they are left). Put on ghillie and watch until it lays down, body straight, and opens its mouth. Sprint to its mouth (directly to its mouth) and feed it, then sprint away. In full ghillie it won’t notice you for a few seconds as you sprint toward it or away before and after feeding. Once away, crouch and watch it, it’ll move a few meters and walk a little bit before laying down and basking. Rinse and repeat until tamed. If something it can kill is nearby it will aggro and attack it. Do not be afraid of it closing its mouth after you feed it, it’s can’t deal damage. It’s a really easy tame. It’s stronger than a Rex and has no oxygen.
Their stats are actually amazing. Low points in even HP still yield awesome stats. They are definitely boss worthy. Just need to obtain a good saddle BP if your server/cluster has them added to the loot pool. Might seem clumsy on last but they trap and overpower basically any other dino/boss.
So I’ve come to learn that these guys are insanely OP, and wanted to include a few in my boss army. So I started breeding them.
Word to the wise though: they eat an insane amount of food when they’re being raised. I think I had 2 carnos and 5 deino’s with 6 full troughs of cooked meat.
They didn’t even last 12 hours. 2 of the crocs and 0 of the carno’s managed to survive. So just keep in mind when breeding: for whatever reason they need a ton of food. More than a Rex seems like.
Absolut unit of a creature, great bite force and its mega bite is super powerful, it can easly chew through bosses even alpha when properly leveled, i dare say even Dragon as it can go under its belly and can't be hit by the fire breath, though i'd suggest using Tickle Chickens still.
As for utility ? Its not that slow on land (around Rex speed) can turn on itself, and bite behind it, take this into account plus its sheer power and you got one of the strongest tame. Underwater ? Really fast and still within the strongest, can easly kill the strongest creatures and farm underwater caves. Finally you can shoot from its back, making taming easier.
