I killed a 145 alpha Rex with a single deinonychus. I took advantage of the fact it can’t harvest bodies so I wait till it kills something and then attack it. It doesn’t aggro to me, but it will occasionally go to get something else so wait till it kills that than attack it some more. Bleed effect really helps in this situation

They DO NOT "climb like a rock drake" they cling and stay there, you have to keep jumping with it to "climb". WHIPS DO NOT PICK UP WILD FERTILIZED EGGS. And the "glide" cannot be steered.

Anyone has any idea of how to use his climb ability on console?

These guys can be carried by a Procoptodon as a baby so get 2 mate boosted procoptodons put deinonychus in the pouch and imprint them and they will get 2x im printing instead of getting 1x when Imprinted from a character.

I use anywhere from 15-20 standing torches to hatch their eggs. Works like a charm. As for stealing eggs, I usually use a pteranodon. I like to lure some of the adults away first, by flying close to the ground for a bit and then striaght up once they're far away, then I grab any eggs I see. Honestly easy enough and they're amazing tames.

Great for abberation or ab zone on val exploration. Tribe mate and I took 2 wild raised eggs and like 50 armor saddles and destroyed literally everything we came accross. 2 crabs and 3 spinos at once? piece of cake. I recommend 2.5k+ health, min of 1k stam, pump melee between 350-400 = absolute monsters. You can solo the broodmother with 1 that has decent stats and saddle. no joke. oh they can leap up cliffs/trees = great for ab! please like

Allo bleed is 5% per alpha attack, Deinon bleed is 1% per 5 attacks. The bleed status effect in the corner of you screen stacks up to 5 I think, and all five together do 1% of your total hp. People were getting confused about the bleeds.

So this thing is my favorite Dino no question. One there not that hard to tame all you need to do is find a nest and you now have an infinite supply of eggs (if you play on single player or even online but there will be some competition for them) it’s sad that there only on two maps but fjordur is at least a great map. So the one downside I found with these guys is that their climbing is kinda messed up or at least on controller so what I found is they jump wherever there head is facing so that’s what you want to look for when climbing as well there climbing is just generally messed up with the fact that they will sometimes just not jump onto wall you’ll jump but they just won’t grab the wall. Overall my favorite Dino

Basically a rock drake in a raptor sized package but it can latch onto creatures neck where it can kill them without being hit by whatever dino

maybe when imprinted these guys would make an excellent giga counter

Basically it's a raptor but simply better. Can climb and glide like a rock drake, just not as efficiently. Latch onto big animals to do a LOT OF DAMAGE!

For those looking for an interesting mount for boss fights, I suggest this dino for the manticor or any flying enemy.

Pump hits,and stamina, then wait till you see the red jaws on the enemy and grab on, the bleed effect can chew through high hit creatures.

Only downer is breeding and leveling to make them survive.

Best used with other players riding their own, so when one falls off the other can take their place and/or a few recession on ground for the worms, using the bleed effect you can tag the golems with hit and run moves.

Tested with one on God mode and had tons of fun grabbing the manticors haunches for a bite and a ride.

They are good but make sure they have a lot of stamina bc it drains in seconds if you don’t, does bleed damage, can climb walls, and can hop on dinosaurs, hope this is helpful ^-^

my favourite tame in ark by FAR. a pack of these with level 200+ can destroy almost anything. the bleed damage they do is percent based meaning the more health something has, they higher the damage they will do with bleed. the mobility on these guys is crazy. they are very fast, and if you hold space bar (or whatever your jump button is) you can do a charged jump which will make you go higher and further. you can scale vertical or slanted surfaces with their climbing ability. they are also just adorable. fluffy raptors = the better raptor

Stam is key for the latch on ability and climbing. It heals fast when you force feed. I have killed 150 wilds with a leveled leveled 85 hatch. So far you will need to put a little into weight if you want to wear good armour.

They are super strong in boss fight. If you give them 4 K health end level there damage a little. They can kill the alpha broodmother in7M.

Their bleed apparently stacks with their melee damage, so putting points into that stat isn't useless, it is actually very useful!

Quick tip- you can no longer pick these guys up with a karkinos as of a couple days ago. Just waiting for dododex to patch their chart :)
