Chapter 12

Darkwater and Vein slept for the night in the palace. After that, they gathered armor. Not just for them.

"Uh, do you have some that fits a yutyrannus? And a fluffy raptor?" Vein asked the blacksmith, Spill. Spill, surprisingly, nodded and gave them shiny new armor.

After putting the armor on the warriors, an army of about seven hundred raced out of the hollow. General Blacktalon, a black-footed well-protected general, led the way behind Vein. Darkwater was flying next to her.

"Why are we here?" Blacktalon growled.

"Oh right. I forgot to tell you. You're going to help take down the Crystal Queen." Vein explained.

A sudden gasp of shock rippled through the crowd, then they seemed to have more determination than usual. They flapped harder, a confusing excitement hung in the thin air.

Darkwater glanced to his right. As they headed to the tree-dome, he saw a blue, green, and purple blur soaring through the sky. Two fiery dots hung at the front.

"You see them?" Vein informed the bloods, "everybody's helping, not just you. You'll be on their side."

The two armies merged closer together until Darkwater could wave at Deuvo and Unnigh.

Then he remembered. Chroneo went to go get the embers, and Blicket had decided to go get some of the animalistic inhabitants while Quinter grieved. Blicket had wanted to grieve, but couldn't.

They neared the tree dome. The giant two armies rested in a green field while they waited for the embers.

It was atleast a few hours before they heard stomping and flapping. They all looked up to see an even bigger flare army soaring into the field.

The stomping grew louder until he saw basilisks, yutyranusses, rexes, gigas, and raptors alike to defeat the Crystal Queen. Chroneo went to greet Deuvo and Unnigh as Blicket areano-climbed the cliff somehow and came to Quinter, who sat by a mound of rocks.

Deuvo and Chroneo flew up. The chattering slowed to a stop.

"You are as one army," Deuvo spoke. "You are all fighting for the same thing- freedom. You are all fighting to save your home. You are all fighting to defeat the Crystal Queen!"

The crowd erupted into cheers and roars. Chroneo continued Deuvo's speech.

"Out there is our battlefield. We will fight to the last breath, we will kill the Crystal Queen. We cannot do this alone, but together, we are STRONGER! Who's with me?!"

The crowd cheered once again, but then, a shadow fell over the setting sun. Whispers rippled through the creatures as an army of heirs was led by one big wyvern..

"THE CRYSTAL QUEEN! WE SHALL FIGHT NOW!" Deuvo bellowed.
