The Lost Stories (Chapter 5, The fight, part 2)

When we crouched behind the rock there were gunshots richoting off the stone, and I grabbed Alex’s arm where the implant used to be. I don’t know how I knew how to do it, but I when I tapped the hollow a small Tek screen popped up, and I started pressing things. “What are you doing?” She asked. “Sending you to the others.” At her questioning look I said, “In the new simulation, I’m sending there. I will not let anyone used to get to my head.” I said fiercely. I heard advancing footsteps, and then Alexandra was teleported to the genesis simulation. I grab my knife as a hand clamps around my throat and a needle injects something into me. My limbs go numb as blackness closes in on me and as I thought this is a stupid way to die. Rebelliously, I said back, at least it doesn’t hurt. But you always have to wake up eventually. I woke up in a small metal room with 1 way glass on all sides. I was always a alert waker, ready to stab someone in my wake if necessary. Just kidding. Well, mostly. As I got up my hearing started to register sounds around me. Muffled talking, the scraping of writing, the sound of a motors. I had everything except my weapons. I paced with a silent tread across the small 1 by 1 room. There was no door, just a small feeling of emptiness as if I were hanging. A dark green gas entered the room and a sudden feeling of pain racked me, like the reeling when you get shot in a cut by a poison Wyvern. I didn’t react though, didn’t give whoever was outside the satisfaction. Then the green gas got replaced by a light blue gas, and a strange feeling of calm and emptiness filled me. I still gave no reaction throughout the day as several other gasses were tried. The one at the end, though, was the worst. It was a turquoise color, and the same feeling of pain went though me, and a feeling of wanted to except it, let it happen, to sit down and rest. A thorny feeling also fell deep into my cuts, and made it feel like thorns were digging into my skin. That gas stayed in for what felt like several hours, until a light green mist replaced it. This felt good, and felt like it was soothing my skin, but the more I breathed, the more sleepy I felt. It must’ve been a distraction, because then my arms are grabbed and put behind me and I’m pulled out of a side of the metal. I saw 2 other empty metal things, and 3 occupied. One had someone who had an eerie ever changing glow to their skin. Another had a lava-ish glow to their skin. The last one had the wings of a Wyvern, much like the ones on the Crystal queen, and was pacing around. Her eyes followed my movements and I understood that mine was the only one that was 1 sided. I was pushed suddenly outside and into another room where there was a rock drake in the corner, and the same glass metal thing was there, except it was tinted heavily, not blocked completely. I saw that it looked aggressive, and thought, oh well, it’s worth a shot. I approached it slowly with a hands out to show I didn’t have anything to attack. It looked very abused, poor thing. It watched as I inched closer, and growled softly as I extended a hand toward him. I gently set my hand on his snout and I felt the muscled tense, then relax. It leaned into my hand and and feathers on its head relaxed as well. “You will fight it!” A rough and angry voice shouted at me from somewhere above. Anger surged though me. You do not treat animals like this, especially innocent animals that trusted you. I breathed deeply and let the tide surge though me. I felt a chill that you get after diving into the ocean, and smelled the same salty air, the same cawing of seagulls. I had a sudden memory of someone with electric blue eyes, curly blond hair, and a grinning face on a beach next to me with a German shepherd. I felt a deep sisterly love to each, and I was brought back to reality. The tide surged though me again, and I loved the thrill of the ocean, normal life that I could’ve had as a marine biologist. I let the feeling take over as I punched and shattered the metal beside me.

-Inferi

I hoped you liked it! I also just realized that and Inferi is a corpse reanimated by a dark wizard in Harry Potter. I definitely didn’t mean for my name to be like that lol
