Use a simple 2 by 2 stone trap with ramps and doorways. On the side away from the ramps, you want to put 2 high doorways. (4 stone foundation, 4 ramps, 10 stone doorways.)

Always (if using melee) go under the belly, it may seem like it’s attacking you. But it is only trying, my brother killed a level 34 with a primative stone pick that way!!!!!

Dont try to out run one, I found that out the hard way.

Carnos are actually pretty good since they got that update and there easy to tame about 3 ok canoes can kill rexes and brontos

Get on a rock with a flyer and just tranq it worked for me

Can be picked up with Karkinos

Get a turtle, shoot the carno with a ranged weapon and let tiny hands fight, (be sure to help the turtle or when it's done, your next) unless it's a alpha carno, if it is RUN

To knock one out you need about 6 to 7 tranq arrows and 40 meat.

I tamed one of these guys on craggs island, they are quite good tames even without a saddle because they take on just about everything and their horns are natural sunglasses so they can fight in the summer!

I tamed a level 70 female carno I starved her half way then used 30 prime meat and she went to level 102

If you are near a beach or river make ur raft into a Dino pen with stone walls and make it follow u into it then shut the doors and shoot darts through a window or door.... a lot easier than trying to get it trapped

I found that taming the carno an others is rather easy near water, they don't swim very well an will turn back for the shore while your tranqing it.

Make an taming pen, make an gate where he fits throuhg and make on the other side an door within the middle an large bear trap so you can walk around close the gate and fire on it. Good luck :D

How to tame a carno.

1. Get to level 21 and unlock tranq arrows

2. Craft tranq arrows

3. Go to a spot with minimal other predators (the island right under the rhynogantha swamp)

3. Shoot it until it falls

4. Think to yourself, why did all these people say to build a trap

5. Give it meat

6. Realize the saddle is not at level 21 😟

You can use a normal argy trap to trap it. 18 walls (use door frame option), 1 stone gateway, 1 stone reinforced gate, 2 stone ramps at the front. Lead the thing into the trap and then run out the doorframe, go around to the front and close the door. Once its trapped tranq it out and tame. Its kibble is medium, or you can use prime meat.

I found a lvl. 20 when I was wandering around on my sarco, I decided to tame him (inspiration from Bruce Wayne’s story) it was a female so I named it grilled cheese (only people who watch nerve gaming crystal isles understand). They are pretty great they have decent stats all around plus they aren’t that hard to find. Good luck and remember, don’t DIE!

When I first started, I tamed a mesopithicus as my first creature (not the best choice). Anyways, I was just walking around and this monster just decides to execute him right infomt of my eyes

There is both a alpha carno and a alpha raptor near my fjordur base, and I tried to kill them but they killed me and I can’t get it back

For the players that can get bows get a bow and then get tranq arrows get to heighground the start shooting it until that boy/girl starts doin the flop!
