Tips & Strategies

Looking to tame this walking nugget? I may have a few tips how to help you get one! :D but first, everything I recommend is entirely up to you to decide, as in whatever way you find suitable to your liking! Now let’s begin shall we? Alright for starters the Carno is usually the step to getting bigger carnivores, this creature is usually the biggest threat for a beginning player! Now being relatively easy to tame, all you need to keep this guy still is a simple bola, I would recommend bringing 1/5 depending on the way you knock it out! There’s two ways of knocking it out, range being more effective in knocking a Carno out, melee is risky! I recommend bringing a bow, and about 30/40 tranq arrows! Or if your going melee a few clubs should work fine as well! Next on the list will be the narcotics to tame this nugget!; it will be a estimation of 5 per level, this is a estimated guess, but I recommend bringing about 100 for a average level carno, I would consider bringing more to be safe! Also be sure to pack fresh meat; I would recommend prime! As it’s the most at hand meat, for higher levels I would recommend kibble! Now let’s get started with where to find these predators; Being a beginners threat, they will spawn almost everywhere on the map! However they are more commonly found near yutyrannus, or the dense forests! So I would consider beginning the search for one there! Finnaly it’s time to knock one out!; How to go about this is relatively simple, they will go down simply with bolas, throw one at it and proceed with melee or ranged inflicted torpor! Now that it’s knocked out feed it prime, mutton, or kibble (feeding it narcs will also be mandatory) and eventually, you have tamed a walking nugget, a great begginers and average player tame! Renowned for maneuverability and relatively quick speed! The carnos special attack will inflict damage and a decent frontal knock back, also being a smaller carnivore makes a amazing cave mount when used properly! Happy taming, and take care! :D
Up if carno should roar and have armour
When I started to play ARK I only knew how to tame a dodo and a dilo but when i got dododex I knew how to tame basically everything I searched for so this app is a big help.&p arrow for dododex!!
First of there should be tek carnos that drop tek horns and second of all i f*cked one up with a longneck from probabaly a hundred yards on my stego.
First time I was taming one I had ton of tranq darts to tame this and I had flak armour but after 2 shots it was down… I could of took tons of hits!
I was scared to shoot these things with tranq arrows and tame it but I shot it and knocked it out
It died due to drowning, lesson learned never knock a carno in the middle of a lake
Before my game got overrode I had two of these guys. They were absolute beasts, I would run around with them and farm supplies from dinosaurs. The best way to tame them is to him them once get on a flying mount get on high ground, and then pump them full of tranquilizers. They make great mounts too.
Very easy taming:
Step 1 look for scorpions
Step 2 tame
Step 3 mount it
Step 4 look for carno, rex, etc.
Step 5 just attack they dont agro insects (evil laugh)
Step 6 watch as they fall unconcious
Step 7 shove prime meat down their throat
Step 8 wait or roam around the map
Step 9 tap yourself for a job well done in taming
Step 10 become the boss of the whole island (evil laugh)
If you want to tame a carno prefer using a crossbow and tanq arrows if your gonna take a high lvl one then your gonna need like 10-15 tanq arrows but they can get down pretty fast on lvl 1 cause you need only 2 tanq arrows and a cross bow/up so starters can see
First day on Fjordur I had a campfire going and some meat cooking, next thing you know a a 140 Carno is chasing me 😭
To knock them out find one put all your stuff in a storage bin get a bow/cross bow and tranq arrows to knock it out run and hit it with your bow/cross bow. To tame it just get any kind of meat you like and shove down its throat
I'm playing mobile. My base is on the western peninsula by the red obelisk. There's a level 240 alpha carno chilling across the water from me. She has 46k health. God please save me.
It was actually really easy to tame! The one I tamed was distracted by a little dino and I shot him with narcotic arrows 4 times I believe and not even a stack of normal meat (I didn't use prime) and it took awhile, I gave mine a few narcotic 5-7 I believe hope this helps!
I use y trap on the carno and it work
My friend who is a noob was playing with me on mobile. I was helping them not die. I turn my Head for ONE second and they got killed by a carno. So, yes….. they thought it was a parasaur……how?
This is one of the easiest to tame dangerous creatures and one of the more helpful carnivores in the game. It has speed to chase down fast herbivores, it’s a great prime meat gatherer, and it has an easy and quick kibble for powerful creatures like dire wolves. Definitely a good choice for a person taming their first dangerous dinosaur.
If you get one aggro on you, just find the nearest dino and book it. They are kinda tarded and lose interest when other dinos are nearby.
I highly recommend getting up high on a boulder or getting the carno stuck somewhere while knocking it out. Unless you are a high level, you will not be able to outrun it.
I actually knocked one out with a slingshot
