ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Utility Tips
What is a carnotaurus used for? carnotaurus battling strategies in ARK: Survival Evolved.
Tamed carnos are excellent almost all around: their health, attack speed, and base damage allow you to take on most of the creatures on the island, including Rexes and Alpha Raptors. Having a mated pair greatly strengthens this quality. They run fairly fast and can carry a lot, making great transport mounts. They are a fairly good harvester of meat and prime meat.
Their only real disadvantage is a slow stamina regen, even when stood completely still.
It is sad to see the Carno for not getting too much love these days. Whenever I try to find mutated Carno videos, it only shows a few of them before showing off Rex, Thyla, basically everything else except the Carno, and I'm disappointed. Carnos are basically a nerfed apex predator. They have the power and health you would expect while being speedy as well. They are not too difficult to tame, just a simple knock out tame. Even though a TLC could spice things up a bit, I love it for what it is.
ON MOBILE-
DEFINITELY a creature you need for early to mid game. I have a level 173 female that was tamed at level 100, it gained 40 levels so the 33 levels were me leveling it. I put a decent amount of attack and got her to 4000 hp. She makes quick work of EVERYTHING, I've taken on 4 different alpha raptors (not at the same time), she makes quick work of rexes, brontos, and like I said, alpha raptors. There is an alpha rex kinda sorta near my base in the forgotten lakes, imma try and kill it tmm😜and also, be careful around the forgotten lakes, raptors, therizinosaurs, and alpha raptors will spawn near by. you all think the creator of this app should add a section for good base spots and stuff of that sort.
After the TLC, Carnotaurus has become not only a more powerful mount but also a very dangerous encounter especially with their Yutyrannus leaders. The secondary attack causes a nasty bleed effect that drains the targets' health significantly. This paired with the significant knockback can easily kill many creatures with high health pools such as brontos and stegos. A fully imprinted, mate-boosted and mutated pack of carnos are a force to be reckoned with and can even take out Alpha Rexes.
Helpfull words here, (last tip I made was in raptor)
And I'm here to tell you why carnos are one of the best mid to late game tames. Why? Let's find out.
Mid game : carnos.... well there good and I mean really good. Left click attack is a bite that last for 2 seconds and right click attack is a horn ability that uses its horn/head to hit a target. Right click ability has bleed and good push back. I recommend spamming the right click ability as the bleed helps a lot. Carnos mid game and late game are great defenders of bases due to there melea,hp, and speed. Recommended level ups are hp , melee, weight, stamina and like 5 into speed. 30 into melee 30 into hp 10 into weight 10 into stamina and 8 into speed. (RECOMMENDED BY ME)
Late game : ok carnos in late game are really good. Like mid game, perfect gaurds for late game. Mix carnos and raptors with gaurds and you got a deadly mix. Easily takes out rexes and spinos 10 carnos 10 raptors 20 carnos can take on mid to maybe high lvl alpha rexes. Just make sure if your riding one. Don't go in the water as there the same speed as raptors in water.
Extra stuff : (pvp stuff is in the top in mid game) yes there is alpha carnos (they are red whitish and have a orange glow) much stronger than normal carnos and can not be Tamable. As though there stronger than alpha raptors there not stronger than alpha rexes in this case.
Thank you for reading this... name suggestion : Toast (The gaming beaver) (male) I'll work on a female name.
I'm my opinion carnos are super good at being guard dogs and as a transport mount thier long range attack and the knock back on the head but move is super good at killing alpha raptor you should pump a level 1 with 10 levels
4 to health
2 to weight
3 to stamina
1 to movement speed
I have a level 92 carno and it is my GO TO mount when I need to go on a hide run. The funny thing is it is not even a level 100 and yet it wrecks brontos and pretty much everything else in the general area. Try to get a carno as soon as you can because if you put in the time to level them up they are a force to be reckoned with.
These guys are not good swimmers lol. My first carno named Ravager (yeah, like the Aberration dog) drowned when I lead my creatures up a cliff in Ragnarok. He couldn’t find the way up, so he ran into a small lake, ran out of stamina, and drowned. RIP Ravager, too stupid to survive.
This is one of the easiest to tame dangerous creatures and one of the more helpful carnivores in the game. It has speed to chase down fast herbivores, it’s a great prime meat gatherer, and it has an easy and quick kibble for powerful creatures like dire wolves. Definitely a good choice for a person taming their first dangerous dinosaur.
