Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a basilosaurus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a basilosaurus.
Warning: the basilosaurus takes almost as long to tame as a diplodocus. I recommend not wearing a scuba tank until the second feed or you'll go through like 5 tanks. Remember to kill every other animal in the area or they'll attack you and if the basilo gets hit you gotta start all over.
Not So Fun Fact: after tame EVERYTHING will attack. I have a max level male and I just tamed anothet max to breed right? I let the newly tamed female stay where it is while I go grab the saddle I forgot. On my way back I get a death message from the basilo and my eyes start tearing up because it took me like- an hour to find that max female and now I'm sad.
Bring a couple of baryonyxes(?) and shoot one manta. They all come after you. Run away from the basilosaurus, and when far enough turn and have the baryonyx gobble them up. Got a level 100 with four kibbles.
Can some one help me? I cannot find one cuz scared of jelly fish also tame the with kibble
I legitimately just shot the mantas and used a soothingbalm rip the 🤣mantas🤣
just tamed one about level 15 or something with around 20 cooked prime meat, you can find a few around the little island in the south-east corner of the map. they'll usually have a few ichthy and mantas following them, the mantas will all attack you when you feed it, and once you kill them be careful to not accidentally feed your meat to one of the ichthy instead. the maximum depth the basil swims to is about the maximum depth you can safely swim to without drowning, you can swim down by yourself with no mount or scuba gear, feed the basil once with half air left, then swim up and breath right when you're about to start drowning. it's pretty terrifying. please bring a mount that swims faster than you or scuba gear or level up your air or something. don't tame with regular meat or fish if you're trying to tame the stupid way like i did, but if you want to tame it with lots of meat or fish make sure you can stay down there for longer.
Kill all the mantras by hitting one remotely near to it and they'll go after you then be like a manta and stick to its side to tame it
If you have a partner and a lightning wyvern you can hover above the surface and kill the manta squad with a few lightning blasts and then begin taming.
Take out the manta squad before feeding it because any sever without instant tame, every manta in the squad will target you.
If you have a friend playing, get him on a megaladon and agro the mantas away
Just git raw fish and feed it in the water
Usually sorrounder by a bunch of unholy demons of the deep. If you have a bed set up nearby and decent oxygen levels you can just approach, feed then try to get as far away as possible before you get killed, then when you return the bodyguards have usually forgotten their job and started looking for other people to annoy
Punch mantas 1 by one and lead them to shore them kill them with a sword on edge tried it out and worked successfully mutton tamed a basilo 130 :))
Having at least a water critter would be your best bet when taming this. A sarco is a great suggestion, as it kills manta and can swim very fast.
WARNING: A lot of aggressive things get distracted by these things. But if you kill all the dangerous things it's easy to tame even with just normal meat
If you want to tame one, but cant wait until you have scuba gear, i would recommend a diplocaulus and a megalodon/baryonix for the mantas. This makes taming much easier
There is sometimes alot of mantas around it
This thing is so annoying take out all the mantas before taming because when I tamed I had all the mantas in the ocean on me
There is a glitch when taming, wait until 2x if you are going to use raw meat or else the taming bar with start rapidly going down at 80% ish and you will have to start again. (I only used raw meat and stayed by it the whole time)
Found one stuck in a shallow area of the southern shores, mantas ran away when I fed it and managed to keep it in one place as I tamed it good tame for early game players if lucky
