To tame this creature you need an Ichyosaurus, because nothing will attack you if you are riding it. It takes a while for it to to start the second feeding. Also, make sure you’re using the same food or the taming process will restart. A must-have to get biotoxin, because they are torpor immune. Will receive damage if you go to far down, but rapidly gains health at the surface. If playing on mobile, go to unofficial server called (Official) Pearl’s Legacy. -KingJadon08
I saw my first Whale in the bay of Herbivore Island, I was like, hey, it’s a whale, i don’t have any proper sea tames (I had a sarco but that doesnt count) so I got raw prime and fed it that, I ran out of raw prime, Omygod omygod. I used normal raw and the taming bar DIDN’T GO DOWN! So basically I skipped the sharks and Ichthys and went strait for the Basilosaurus. IT IS AWESOME! I highly recommend a whale and they are very common around herbivore island (heck, there’s a new one in the bay now)
Rare Flowers affect the Basilo (slightly inconsistently) allowing you to kite it into your own water pen for a super safe, even easier tame involving much less swimming about. Seems to require you to eat at least 2 flowers to trigger the aggro effect, and it loses aggro the second the effect ends.
When taming the time between the first and second feed takes forever. To avoid this move well out of render and back again and it will be ready to feed 👍 Also upon your return be sure to kill everything in the area before continuing. Essentially an under water rex. great all round beast.
This is by far one of the best water tames, has insane health regen and if you boost melee you can easily solo kill mosa and tuso alphas, good for jellyfish because cant be stunned. And keeps you warm underwater!
The easiest way to tame this whale is to bring a Baryonyx with ya to deal with the manta's and sharks and to wear scuba gear. Once the sharks and manta are dead just passive tame the whale with either prime meat or Theriz Kibble.
