So, biggest thing no one tells you on here. If you only have repellant and no ghille, put it on and go at them from the SIDE!! Not head on, not directly behind. The side. Never aggros on you that way. From the back and front even with repellant it aggroed 3x each before i tried it this way.

You need to have a bug reppelant and a ghillie Armor to tame one of these guys.
They are also good at farming caves for BP

These guys aren’t that good, they are okay for caves but I think are really cool and in need of a tlc.

Araneo needs spider web grappling hook ability. Reeling up and down consumes Araneo stamina. TLC 3 please Wildcard.

Tame one of these inside a cave then the Dino in the cave will not aggro unless you attack them in other words the cave Dino will become neutral . This will not work if you tame a spider outside the cave . I would definitely recommend taming at least 3 when your at lvl 35-50 if you are playing in pvp it will help you get artifacts and artifacts will help you be the alpha of the server . In mobile wersion it can go to every cave and don't lose any HP, because cave creatures aren't attack it. I don't know is it a bug or a new thing for mobile.

The mouth isn’t right. It has 4 mandibles with webbing, clearly pointing a reference to the Predators without their thermal mask.

Fun tame good for base defense. Put a few in the bird cage or tame garage. Single not very effective but 4-5 will wreck kids.

You don't have to fight it if you have bug repellent

I was very noob when I first entered a cave. I walked by one of these dudes hiding inside a bush. Then, it spat web at me. I was very alarmed by that and thought I couldn’t move so I didn’t bother run. I tried killing it with my stone hatchet but after all I was still noob so I died in the end.

Annoying piece of sh_t. Paired with tb in cave = absolutely obliteration.

Taming a spider as a battle mount is quite useless but its ability to spray web at a target and severally slow them is ideal when taking on fast enemy's or large highly resistant creatures

An easy way to tame it is to use a kapra to grab it run it out of the cave and put it in your taming pin.

Basically it's only use is as a taming assist mount since it's web slows things down and they inflict torpor

Easiest way to tame a few at once, is to build a 4 foundation pen with walls a door frame (so you can cryo it and re use the trap afterwards) drop the araneo in with a flyer and then feed through the wall where it’s leg sticks out, it won’t agro on you this way.
