I don’t know what use they have when tamed but the gel is needed for the electric prod which is really good for pvp

The jelly you get from killing them is used to tame mantas! I suggest using a pickaxe to collect the jelly.

The angler

Temperament: agressive to player, not to other water mounts even if ridden by a player.

Diet: carnivore, so feed it kibble or mutton

Taming: to tame, ride an icthy or shark, and shoot from afar, be careful of eels and other sharks, and when it falls asleep, it still looks awake, so make sure to check you didn’t shoot too many at it and ruined the effectiveness. After you’ve knocked it out you need to protect it from other things, if an eel aggros you and accidentally hits it, it’s effectively useless as taming effectiveness is gone.

Uses: the angler is a NEED for pearl farming, you can get over 5k easily, but watch out for ammonites and make sure to bring a mosa or shark to protect yourself

Best map I’ve found to tame these so far is Valguero:

Just go to the bio / aberration cave, and there’s a shallow river with tons of them there, you can even use tranq darts while standing out of the water.

Just be careful to bring tons of narcotics for it, and a fairly strong mount to clear and guard the place, it’s full of karkinos and spinos

The gel they drop is useful for keeping a fire burning for a longer duration of time

If these angler going after your tame just bite them they are like “why this thing so strong” “this is not good i must swim away” and just like that you can chase them k i l l them and harvest with an axe

Put a baby angler in a fish basket and it instantly grows but can’t get imprint

To whoever wrote that you could ride an angler IRL. Unfortunately they live deep deep into the ocean where water pressure is more intense than what we could handle. Bringing them up would make them collapse onto themselves. One can dream though.

If u are for some reason in the deep water (witch I very much don't recommend) and u run into this thing just use a crossbow but if u don't have one yet just use a spear -Big Bill

When you use metal pick, they give 8 angler gel per hit!!! And each body farmed is at least 32 angler gel worth. Try this 👍

When taming use a net gun to immobilize the angler then use the highest dealing torpor weapon possible. Make sure you hit it consecutively else it will lose its torpor quick.
