Hop off it right before it forces you off when taming, this avoids his back kick stun which avoids damage, and as a bonus, if you do this while wearing ghillie it completely ignores you once you hop off.

When taming, there is a red bar where the taming effectiveness is. It will build up as you are riding the Andrewsarchus and, when full, it will kick you off and try to kill you. If you manually dismount before the bar is full you can avoid them aggroing and trying to kill you. Wait a few seconds before trying to mount them again to let the bar lower.

Day 1 of making a tip everyday: Andrewsarchus

The andrewsarchus is a semi aquatic creature that is tamed by dropping honey on the floor, when it eats it you have to mount it similar to a equus, you then have to steer them in the direction they would like (the arrows on the screen point to them if I’m not mistaken) repeat the process if you mess up until they are tamed!

When they are tamed they can:

-Swim relatively fast and long

-have a saddle with a Minigun on it

-minigun shoots underwater

-run fast on land

-saddle protects you from radiation AND drowning

-can be ridden with no saddle if tamed earlier then saddle

-they have a pack buff

Bonus stuff:

-Saddle has Easter eggs in first person

Don’t stress this tame this is easy since all you need is Giant bee honey.

Final. Get Giant bee honey take it to the Andrew use ghillie armor just in case.

If you are trying tame these things they will charge but once tamed you can use this to your advantage if you charge into the water then you have infinite oxygen on his back and you can run along the ocean floor this is op for collecting things like silica pearls

Very good tame even for a new player, got mine like at level 5 just wearing cloth, you dont need ghillie. Just gather honey from the honey rocks, place them on your hot bar and use it to toss it on front of him then just atear it.

Make sure their isn’t to many other creatures around or they will eat the honey and not the Andrewsarchus.

Why is this thing in the aquatic section

I just went to an underwater cave with my new amphibious mammal.

And guess what? there’s a ton of sea scorpions in this cave… I’m seeing signs of this giant pig to be really good at collecting black pearls off their corpses.. maybe it’s just a fluke, so far he picks up more than me.

This things biggest weakness is a giga or thyla. Thyla does giga Bleed and this thing dies extra fast to that for whatever reason and takes fall damage like the basilisk.

Absolutely broken. Incredibly easy to tame, saddle is broken. It makes your survivor immune to damage, dismounts, drowning, radiation, poison, everything. Your survivor is basically in god mode while riding it with its saddle. It’s incredibly tanky too. Even took it on boss fights.

For some reason alpha dinos will not agro to you when you are in the water firing 750 rounds of advanced rifle bullets in their face per second for 5 minutes straight,

I managed to kill 3 alpha Raptors with a wild tame one of these guys and a prim saddle because they went in the water after me but then floated still and let me shoot them for 5 mins straight without even attempting to attack

These guys will be good for killing wyverns on official if you level up a ton.

Think of a Tek saddle he already has a minigun saddle though we probably won't get one a Tek minigun saddle that uses a new type of element would be cool -Raven72

You can use him to go to swamp cave. Saddle can protect you from poison and desmodus (also you won't lose oxygen).

IT HAS A GUN SADDLE ok this is my new favorite mount lol
