ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion

Tips & Strategies

Kill others so you have one solo. Throw honey in its path. Once eating honey, jump on its back and start riding. Steer left or right, (there will be an indicator). Jump off before red meter fills up. Repeat until tamed. You should have it by second/third attempt. Enjoy your new pet fellow dino riders. Skol 🤘
Jump off slightly before getting thrown off indicated by the red bar and it won't aggro to you
To tame you will need to
1. Find rocks with broken bee hives on them and harvest with a pick
2put the honey in the your hotbar
3approach the andresarchus while crouching and stop about 14feet away and use the honey via clicking whichever button or key uses.
4. Slowly back away
5. Let it wander until it sees the honey and approaches it after this it will begin eating the honey.
6. Now sprint toward its back and click the ride button
While it’s still eating.
7. A mini game will begin it will show arrows to the left or right the correct arrow will light up and you will need to turn in that direction.
8. It will kick you off after a few seconds after that run and put it on the taming tracker now repeat the previous steps until tamed.
These things supposedly were the largest land meat-eating mammal to have ever lived standing 6ft. tall and 12ft. long weighing 2,200lb. (Polar bear 1,500lb)
1) Find a good Andrew.
2) Clear out the area of hostiles.
3) Throw her ney at Andrew.
4) Ride Andrew.
5) Jump off before the red bar fills.
6) Lose all progress to a newly spawned/unseen hostile creature.
7) cry.
1. Get honey.
2. Find Andrewsarchus
3. Throw honey on ground from 0 slot (l1 left arrow PS4)
4. Wait for Andrewsarchus to eat honey from ground, then mount it, it will start running like an Equus but arrows will appear and you will have to turn it.
Your taming effectiveness will go up but so will a red bar beneath it, if that gets to full it will throw you off and attack you. So you want to jump of before the bar gets to full and the let it ‘cool down’. Repeat the process and you will have your own mini gun pig.
Hope this tip was usefull.
Used to be you could knock to reset taming effectiveness, but now if you do that, it will become impossible to tame. So be extremely diligent about eradicating everything that might nick it and lose taming effectiveness. Even a stupid pego trying to get at you when you're hanging can tap it and zero out the tame
Andrewsarchus: All you need to know
The Andrewsarchus, or Andrew for short, is a huge hog-like omnivore that lives in cold climates. Because Andrewsarchus is related to todays whales, it is apt at swimming in deep water, with its relation to hippos giving it good speed and strength on land. It’s so strong in the water that some even use it as tanks in the open ocean. It’s high health, strength, and speed, combined with the fact that it is strong enough for tank-like saddles to be placed on it, makes it and ideal multi-terrain mount. The Andrewsarchus has a charge ability as well. When running it can let forth a short burst of speed that can demolish almost everything in its path. To tame one of these beasts is not a simple feet. Wile some may say it’s easy when mastered, the way to tame a Andrew is to first sneak up and place some honey by the creature as it has a sweet tooth, and, wile aggressive normally, sweet honey pacifies a Andrewsarchus. Once calmed, one must mount the Andrew and attempt to dominant it wile showing you you are not a predator, by steering it in different directions. It will eventually cross the point of total rage, much like a giga, and will throw you off and aggro you. If you hop off before it goes crazy, however, it will not aggro you, and will allow you to rinse and repeat until tamed. If all goes wrong, if you still with to tame the Andrew you must NOT inflict any damage on it, as it has a rare ability to remember the smell and look of specific enemies and will target them from a large distance. Same goes for Andrewsarchi that you do not wish to tame. To kill, if needed, use a long range weapon or a decent health and melee mount. You could also use a raptor and, much like you would a Sarco, bombard its sides and turn with it so it can’t hit you. I hope this was helpful!
Sincerely, Sarco Master 🐊

No has yet to say this…
The rider can NOT be dismounted, via that being voidwyrms, being picked up, or even a net gun. In fact, the net gun nets the Andrew, but the rider stays on and can shoot the attacker. Also you can Press c (or whatever button it is) to dash. The Andrew goes super fast but that’s not all, the dash also gets you out of the net INSTANTLY! Also did I mention that when stunned by a jelly or voidwyrm, it is NOT slowed down?!
Crazy creature, use it before the devs nerf it.
Try trapping the thing and then waiting, sometimes works sometimes dont
Do *not* bother with grapple hooks like in the nooblets vid. Just hop off before the red bar maxes out, and you can immediately do another round instead of getting attacked and waiting for it to lose aggro. A thousand times easier this way
These things are crazy..
• They start running slowly then slowly get faster like the Dire Bear
• They have a charging ability that increases their speed but decreases turning radius
• They have a MINIGUN saddle. It requires Adv. Rifle Ammo and it can be used underwater, and if you’re inside the cockpit and go underwater, your character won’t lose oxygen
• They can jump decently high, and they attack pretty fast along with hitting really hard. They also have great weight.
Andrewsarchus is an ESSENTIAL when playing Fjordur, it’s one of the best tames in Ark so far.
This is the best creature in ark.
Need to travel on land? Andrewsarchus has you covered. Underwater? Andrewsarchus. Hazardous area? Lava? Radiation? Dismounting/stunning attack creatures? Andrewsarchus.
Passive tames that you can relatively easily get as early as literally level 1, and will probably be your primary mount the entire game. They can be ridden without a saddle, but the saddle is worth it. Equipped with a turret, functioning as a hasmat suit and a submarine, and fully protecting the rider from everything Ark can throw at you, this is easily the single best dino any survivor can tame.
Oh, and they can absolutely be boss killers if you enjoy super-breeding them.
Have fun with you new ATV Hell Pig.
Ptrefier has a great video on getting one early game. It's called starting on fjour or somethingng like that
