Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a andrewsarchus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a andrewsarchus.
Kill others so you have one solo. Throw honey in its path. Once eating honey, jump on its back and start riding. Steer left or right, (there will be an indicator). Jump off before red meter fills up. Repeat until tamed. You should have it by second/third attempt. Enjoy your new pet fellow dino riders. Skol 🤘
Jump off slightly before getting thrown off indicated by the red bar and it won't aggro to you
To tame you will need to
1. Find rocks with broken bee hives on them and harvest with a pick
2put the honey in the your hotbar
3approach the andresarchus while crouching and stop about 14feet away and use the honey via clicking whichever button or key uses.
4. Slowly back away
5. Let it wander until it sees the honey and approaches it after this it will begin eating the honey.
6. Now sprint toward its back and click the ride button
While it’s still eating.
7. A mini game will begin it will show arrows to the left or right the correct arrow will light up and you will need to turn in that direction.
8. It will kick you off after a few seconds after that run and put it on the taming tracker now repeat the previous steps until tamed.
1) Find a good Andrew.
2) Clear out the area of hostiles.
3) Throw her ney at Andrew.
4) Ride Andrew.
5) Jump off before the red bar fills.
6) Lose all progress to a newly spawned/unseen hostile creature.
7) cry.
Used to be you could knock to reset taming effectiveness, but now if you do that, it will become impossible to tame. So be extremely diligent about eradicating everything that might nick it and lose taming effectiveness. Even a stupid pego trying to get at you when you're hanging can tap it and zero out the tame
1. Get honey.
2. Find Andrewsarchus
3. Throw honey on ground from 0 slot (l1 left arrow PS4)
4. Wait for Andrewsarchus to eat honey from ground, then mount it, it will start running like an Equus but arrows will appear and you will have to turn it.
Your taming effectiveness will go up but so will a red bar beneath it, if that gets to full it will throw you off and attack you. So you want to jump of before the bar gets to full and the let it ‘cool down’. Repeat the process and you will have your own mini gun pig.
Hope this tip was usefull.
Andrewsarchus: All you need to know
The Andrewsarchus, or Andrew for short, is a huge hog-like omnivore that lives in cold climates. Because Andrewsarchus is related to todays whales, it is apt at swimming in deep water, with its relation to hippos giving it good speed and strength on land. It’s so strong in the water that some even use it as tanks in the open ocean. It’s high health, strength, and speed, combined with the fact that it is strong enough for tank-like saddles to be placed on it, makes it and ideal multi-terrain mount. The Andrewsarchus has a charge ability as well. When running it can let forth a short burst of speed that can demolish almost everything in its path. To tame one of these beasts is not a simple feet. Wile some may say it’s easy when mastered, the way to tame a Andrew is to first sneak up and place some honey by the creature as it has a sweet tooth, and, wile aggressive normally, sweet honey pacifies a Andrewsarchus. Once calmed, one must mount the Andrew and attempt to dominant it wile showing you you are not a predator, by steering it in different directions. It will eventually cross the point of total rage, much like a giga, and will throw you off and aggro you. If you hop off before it goes crazy, however, it will not aggro you, and will allow you to rinse and repeat until tamed. If all goes wrong, if you still with to tame the Andrew you must NOT inflict any damage on it, as it has a rare ability to remember the smell and look of specific enemies and will target them from a large distance. Same goes for Andrewsarchi that you do not wish to tame. To kill, if needed, use a long range weapon or a decent health and melee mount. You could also use a raptor and, much like you would a Sarco, bombard its sides and turn with it so it can’t hit you. I hope this was helpful!
Sincerely, Sarco Master 🐊

Try trapping the thing and then waiting, sometimes works sometimes dont
Do *not* bother with grapple hooks like in the nooblets vid. Just hop off before the red bar maxes out, and you can immediately do another round instead of getting attacked and waiting for it to lose aggro. A thousand times easier this way
Ptrefier has a great video on getting one early game. It's called starting on fjour or somethingng like that
No ghille required, but do kill everything else in the area.
Crouch to approach. Don't get right up on it, but ypu can get fairly close - maybe 3 or 4 foundations? Throw the honey at it. Run up and mount while it eats. Steer based on the arrows, keeping a close eye on the red meter.
It will buck THREE TIMES (I think when the red meter is *around* 50%, 75% and 90%?). Dismount immediately after the third, and run away from it. Rinse and repeat.
Source: I tamed a 130 without ghille.
There better found in asgard rather then vanniland tell people about this
So get some honey and feed it to the andrewsarchus and get close to it
And ride it until it’s tame and then boom you get a andrewsarchus
After three easy andrew tames using this method figured I would share:
-Use a wyvern to clean out the area around the Helms Deep fortress.
-Drop the andrew inside. Natural trap with minimal exits.
-Use a grapple to escape when it kicks you off.
If it runs out either pick it back up with the wyvern or run it back inside if you have high enough speed.
-While waiting for it to de-aggro, check the surroundings, if something hits it taming drops to 0.
This method is way easier then running around
randomly.
So, you wanna tame an Andrewsarchus, huh? Here's how.
Step 1: Find a rock with a beehive in it, and harvest the honey with a pickaxe.
Step 2: Find the Andrewsarchus you wanna tame.
Step 3: Put the honey in your hotbar. If you're using a stack mod, make sure to only assign one jar of honey to each slot. I made the mistake of assigning over 800 honey I gathered and lost all of it when the Andrewsarchus ate it.
Step 4: Maintain a distance and throw the jar of honey onto the ground near the Andrewsarchus you want to tame. It should walk towards it and begin eating it.
Step 5: While the Andrewsarchus is busy eating the honey, run up to it and press the interaction button to mount it. It will begin a minigame.
Step 6: Use the directional buttons to turn in the direction the on-screen arrow is pointing (A & D for PC, but if you're on console, just move the left stick in the direction it's pointing).
Step 7: Pay attention to the red bar underneath the taming bar. That's the Andrewsarchus' rage meter. If it fills up all the way, you'll get thrown off, and the Andrewsarchus will aggro onto you, losing a bit of taming effectiveness. To prevent this, get the rage meter as close as you can to full WITHOUT COMPLETELY FILLING IT, then hop off before it's completely filled, and the Andrewsarchus will not aggro. You also won't lose taming effectiveness.
Step 8: Repeat steps 4-7 until it's tamed.
Boom! You have an Andrewsarchus. Hope this helped.
Fort you need a chilies suit to make things as easy as possible, on Fjordur it’s not to hard to get a set. Then, get honey (there’s often hives lying around) and put it in your hop bar. When you find the Andrew you wanna tame, throw down the honey, wait for it to eat it, and then quickly run up and mount it. It will have arrows that tell you to steer left and right. Before the bottom bar can reach fully red, dismount so it won’t agro to you. Usually doing this 2-3 times tames it.
How to tame an andrewsarchus:
1. Throw honey near it.
2. Once it starts eating the honey, mount it.
3. After mounting, you will need to start steering left or right. There will be an Indicator.
4. Unmount before the red meter fills up.
5. Repeat until the andrewsarchus is tamed.
-Also their saddles protect you from radiation or lava, and gives you infinite oxygen underwater.
Hope this helped!

Get a lot of honey, have a desmodus handy, and make sure you have a sanguine elixir, cause you're going to have a bad time without them
Okay I'm actually gonna say a tip to this thing is op for pearls cause it can charge in water but when it's charging it barely turns

The best way to tame an andrewsarchus is by harvesting honeycomb fron rocks on the ground with a iron pick and then find an eligible Andrew to tame and place the honeycomb in your hotbar and drop it near the andrewsarchus and it will eat it allowing you to mount it and a taming game will comence, it will shake you off but you need to repeat this pattern intill tamed.
