Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a achatina? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a achatina.
Pick it up so you can shoot him from under where he is more woneralble
The ultimate paste maker. Tame this for 20 organic polymer and 100 paste per hour. This creature is a strong bargaining chip for scorched tribes. All lv ups should be food! It had to have food to live and is isolated from war so no need.
While you are taming achatha it will tell you to put food the it's inventory but the taming effectiveness or taming bar won't go down
You should use tranquillizer darts to knock it out for taming as it makes it easier
For anyone wondering like I was on why it’s not eating the berries you put in it’s inventory after it’s been tamed is because yes they do still need the vegetable cake. As soon as I put the cake in its inventory it started eating it.
Better make sure you have a refrigerator for the tasty cakes
Dear WHAT ARE CAKES?!
You need to make Sweet Vegetable Cake. Learn in engrams.
Important tip! They only eat cake! So level up their hunger so they can go a long time without food!
My advice is to catch him with the argent and take him out of the swamps
I picked up a “snail” in the redwoods with my “pterodactyl”, and dropped it in my base (surrounded by spike walls). It wondered around and dropped cement paste for a while, but it kept trying (unsuccessfully) to escape... so I built a wooden platform with 3 window walls and a door, & dropped it in with my “pterodactyl”. I could stand outside the window and grab the cement paste before I was able to tame it (with 10 cakes). Very handy companion. I’m trying to make a tree platform and you need like 1,000,000,000 cement paste to do it...
Use a tranq dart and aim for the soft butt or head. Wait 5 to 10 seconds between shots, less wasted ammo, faster KO and less likely to kill. Easy to keep up with, kill everything on the ground around it to ensure a safe start. After KO add cakes and sleepy stuff (narcoberries, narcotic, or bio toxin) stand a bit away incase you are attacked so you don't kill it accidentally. I fly argy when taming snails since usually attacked by troodons and little thieves.
Some obvious tips no one really mentions: Remember to aim for the slug, not the shell. Otherwise you’re just wasting your ammo. Also, if you can, pick them up and carry them to someplace safe before taming. I recommend ruins where you can throw down a quick gate or spike wall to seal the entrances. Final tip; their torpor drains fast. Best route is narco berries, which take longer to raise torpor (and the longer it takes to rise, the more time before it starts draining!)
Must be set to wander to produce paste. Rarely moves anyway. Roughly 1 CP produced per minute in it's inventory. Can stack to 100. Also randomly produces organic poly as well. Having 2-3 of these will give you an over abundance of CP in just a few hours.
Tame a low level one. No difference in drops from a lvl 15 one and a lvl 300 one. Just be careful that you don't accidentally kill them while trying to knock them out
When taming. It takes about 200 food for it to eat a piece of cake.
Sweet vegetable cake is the preferred food for Achatina
They are found in the swamp and love nothing more than cake. Capable of producing Achatina paste (alternative to cementing paste) and organic polymer . Once set to wandering, will produce and store a max of 100 paste. They also defecate CP.
While taming, after eating a cake, the bar will read "place food in inventory to tame" even though you have cakes there. Also, the torpor score goes up quickly from feeding narcs, different from other tames
I repeat........They don't eat food inside the cave in mobile.
NOT TRUE that you can use a grappling hook on snails on PVE servers. I tried.
You can find achatina in and around the swamp, also in redwoods if you want to be jumped by a thylacoleo
