I picked up a “snail” in the redwoods with my “pterodactyl”, and dropped it in my base (surrounded by spike walls). It wondered around and dropped cement paste for a while, but it kept trying (unsuccessfully) to escape... so I built a wooden platform with 3 window walls and a door, & dropped it in with my “pterodactyl”. I could stand outside the window and grab the cement paste before I was able to tame it (with 10 cakes). Very handy companion. I’m trying to make a tree platform and you need like 1,000,000,000 cement paste to do it...

They can wear hats!!!
If you are considering breeding these, go slam your hand in a car door a few times. It will be much less painful. Literally one veggie cake per percent of growth....and it grows slow.. Digests roughly one point of food per second, so feed a cake about one for every 7 mins (during event boost) and it will gain one percent of growth.
U CAN GET CAKES THROUGH CHEF STATION ON MOBILE!
Do not starve tame. There is a cool down on the veggie cakes that don't allow it to eat them as quickly as needed.
And their not breedable! Why. I want baby achatina!!!!
I like to make note that this is a knock out tame
If you are playing Official PvE, you can grapple them with a grappling hook and then fly or walk them back somewhere safer for them to be knocked out, such as your base for example.
Pick it out of the swamp with pterodactyl and plop it around your base
As of 12/20 it took 15 shots (5 tail 10 head) to knock out a 150 and 9 veggie cakes. The head, tail, or she'll shots don't seen to make a difference anymore.
Get a male and female and never worry about making veg cakes again. They produce babies much faster than they starve, and you’ll get exponentially more paste!
Just remember to claim each new baby and set it to wander. And one of the high rated posts says you can’t breed them, you can now.
