Ben, look at this.
Ben, look at this. *takes out the entire series.* *kicks the main character out* *series caves in.* and it takes me rewriting the whole thing to fit a new character.
I’m a newcomer. You are the author of The Arks: Over Heaven, the most popular Dododex series of the decade. What I know is that it must have been hard work for you to write such long chapters and keep everything consistent on a strict deadline. And not to mention… some chapters were a half hour read. Chapter 100 in full was a 3 hour read! These could’ve taken you hours each day and a lot of work. My point is: it’s not easy for me to write a consistent series, or for anyone else. People will struggle and I know it will make my series easier to write if I don’t have to worry about the characters. 12 chapters in and I already have to worry about you asking me to kill off my main character and change the series. I write for fun and because I like showing off my stories. So let’s be flexible with this. I’ll continue writing Chapter 13 and might get it out tomorrow or somewhere this week. If we get to Chapter 15 and you still don’t like my main character, I’ll switch up the characters or at least pull it in a different direction. I’ll work hard. None of us would ever be as good at writing as you. But we’re still good writers. Just don’t put pressure on this whole thing with my characters. I get you don’t like him and that’s fine. But I don’t want to feel like he’s a terrible character.
Have a good day.
