If you are going to hope to tame this sea demon, at least make it worth your trouble and tame a 140 or higher. Use three stone gateways and a metal bill board. You’ll understand why we need a bill board later. Get on an Ichthiosaurus and if you don’t have swim goggles yet (like me😔), swim blindly until you see something fast chasing you and/or you hear a low growl. After that, don’t swim too fast or else you will lose them, but swim into your trap and leave your Ichthiosaurus behind. Say your goodbyes and get out the trap from underneath the billboard. Enclose them all in reinforced gates. Kill the ones you don’t want, and start to tranq the Xiphactinus slowly, or it will die before any torpidity kicks in. Don’t expect much because if you use arrows to tranq, it dies about 60% of the time. If you’re lucky and manage to tuck it in bed and say “Good night”, then use exceptional kibble; it’s way easier to make than the purple kibble because you don’t need prime meat jerky. After that, keep up the trap to tame another; I highly recommend taming another because the pack buff with this is insane and you can bring alpha MOSASAURS to shame.

More Xiphactinus Taming & KO Tips
Beware all who dare cross these nasty sardines and live to tell the tale. If ye be dumb and cross these ungodly creatures of the sea. Ye be warned all tamed beasties shall die a most horrible death and ye along with it for it shall send all who tread tbeyre water's to Davy Jones locker. If by some miracle ye wishes to capture this beast build a trap and lure it in with something fast. Do not tame with a club. Use trank arrows, darts or harpoon. Forget saving ure lure. Or it be the locker for you!
Let it munch on your mosa and basi while you blast with arrows or harpoon. They won't run when torpidity gets high and will regen health quickly while attacking your tame. They starve in a few minutes, no narcs needed. 12-14 superior kibble for 150 on 1x
You can tame these without a trap. Use a tanky mount (I used a high level Deinosuchus), single out the one you want to tame, and bring plenty of Tranqs, a crossbow, and preferably a SCUBA tank. You can shoot off of your mount to knock it out. When its torpor starts to rise it will not attempt to flee which is helpful in the taming process. Note: MAKE SURE you single out the one you want out, if there is more than one you and your mount will get absolutely shredded.
Tame a high level turtle and let this thing munch on that while you knock it out. Watch out you don’t kill it as it doesn’t torpor run and heals quickly. I call them sardines, although they are definetly not sardine sized hahaha
Just kite it to a beach and itll start to flop, use a longneck and tranqs, easy knock out and relatively safe, no traps needed for this one
If you are on the center you can find tons of these in-need-of-a-dentist fish around the beaches of the redwoods. Hope this helped 😃
It has high torpor so lure it to shallow water and trap it there, use darts. Arrows may likely jill it before it KO’s. It prefers superior kibble. Takes about 6 to tame a level 110 so scale it from there. Hope this helps!
These are pretty easy to tame, I didn’t even trap one I just had one attack my basilo near the shore and they don’t torpor run so that’s helpful.
Super fast and annoying, just trap with dino gates and it’s an easy tame
There’s no need for a trap. All I had to do was get it to aggro on my Meg (while it was on passive) and I just shot away with my crossbow, tamed with prime meat. It’s a really quick and easy tame!
