Tips & Strategies

What are tips for xiphactinus? Tips and strategies for xiphactinus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Tame a high level turtle and let this thing munch on that while you knock it out. Watch out you don’t kill it as it doesn’t torpor run and heals quickly. I call them sardines, although they are definetly not sardine sized hahaha
Do not tackle these with a pelegornis. I got knocked off and had to watch this fish swim by with my bird in its mouth. I hot the pelegornis back after I piked the fish. Great graphics.
DO NOT APPROACH WITH BARYONYX OR OTHER SMALL MOUNT!!! IT CAN GRAB YOUR MOUNT AND THEN ITS PACKMATE WILL GRAB YOU.
Just kite it to a beach and itll start to flop, use a longneck and tranqs, easy knock out and relatively safe, no traps needed for this one
If you are on the center you can find tons of these in-need-of-a-dentist fish around the beaches of the redwoods. Hope this helped 😃
One day I decided to go for a swim and saw this small fish swimming towards me. When it for closer I realised it wasn't a little fish but a big unfriendly fish..
It has high torpor so lure it to shallow water and trap it there, use darts. Arrows may likely jill it before it KO’s. It prefers superior kibble. Takes about 6 to tame a level 110 so scale it from there. Hope this helps!
just watched a wild pack of these absolutely MELT an alpha meg in under 30 seconds. help
This dolphin looking monster can not only knock you off a tame, a lvl 90 decided he wanted my argy more...drug him away while I was eaten x.x gg stupid fish, I did not see it coming.
These damn things ran down my Angler and I until it was completely out of stamina. Managed to get to the water area of my base, where my beaver tried to help. Poor fella was dragged around the water until I could come rescue him.
So if you're hunting for silica pearls, bring a LOT of security tames.
They can grab you off anything that’s a drag weight of 210 or below, if your dino is above 210 you don’t have to worry. You can look up your dinos drag weight to check
These are pretty easy to tame, I didn’t even trap one I just had one attack my basilo near the shore and they don’t torpor run so that’s helpful.
Saw three of them near Herbie Island and thought my 11K HP Shark would be fine. I BARELY got out of there! It didn't even seem like they were losing health😵💫. I had to swim to the surface just so I could shoot them. I was less than 700 health 😩. Whats with these things.
Super fast and annoying, just trap with dino gates and it’s an easy tame
There’s no need for a trap. All I had to do was get it to aggro on my Meg (while it was on passive) and I just shot away with my crossbow, tamed with prime meat. It’s a really quick and easy tame!
Great Travel Mounts as they are pretty fast, Great as Pack creatures - a good level pack of these toothy fishes can even kill Mosas and Tusos so yeah they are very powerful in packs, Can stay on land for a decent time but after 20 seconds it'll start to get damage but uf your Xiphactinus is high level then it can withstand damage for a long time as the damage is not too high
