Tips & Strategies

What are tips for wyvern? Tips and strategies for wyvern in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
You don't need milk you need a daedeon on healing it heals the wyvern then it's so much easier no knocking out females then when it's grown put meat in it then your done
You can raise a wyverns without any milk. Tame a Daedon to heal the wyvern so it won’t die from hunger, and if you want full imprinting just put it in a cryopod then throw it back out if it asks for milk, that will change what they want
Don't bother with milk if you've transferred eggs to raise on a map where milk is unavailable... Just heal with snow owl :)
If you are solo, cryopod the wyvern when you go to bed so it doesn’t starve, and throw it out when you can check on it and feed it.
Rip people trying to steal an egg after the flyer nerf ;-)
If you are looking too get a lot of wyvern milk you need too kill a alpha wyvern and harvest it's body it will give you 50 milk
When you search for eggs try to always take another person and eat cactus broth to help you be noticed less. Dont forget to give your bird cactus broth also. Very important
Pro tip for Ragnarok, do NOT waste your time in the trench. There are many MANY wyverns there and it is much harder to lose them. Instead go to the south center of the map next to the desert and go into the wyvern cave. Coming from the south, it’s to the left of a waterfall just behind a rock (you’ll have to fly low to the water to get in. Once inside, stay out of the aggro range of the wyverns by the entrance and aim for the large pillar in the center. You’ll find all of the nests in this center area and if you got past the wyverns at the entrance, you have time to check the eggs and find your desired level & type. Once you have it, fly back to the entrance of the cave, and make your escape.
The escape is quite simple, once out of the cave, go straight up the waterfall and into the small cave where the stream is flowing. Follow that stream to the exit of the small cave and make your escape. You may also use this cave to enter the trench largely undetected (this is what I do).
Once you have the egg, you can either trap a female, narc it, and get milk. Or you can do it the easy way and cryo the baby when it asks for milk, which will reset what it asks for.
*NOTE: I go completely naked on a throwaway Pteranadon with AT LEAST 450 stamina. Usually I don’t even get hit because I use the C Spin to get back out of the wyvern cave, but you’ll want that stamina to ensure the longest flight time possible and a safe getaway*
Hope someone finds this helpful! I know I would have.
Wyverns will become breedable on November 7th!!
Hatching: you need a very hot area. Use standing torches in a circle (10 to 15). Or build a room with a lot of air conditioners.
Imprinting and baby survival: Make sure you have wyvern milk. They only consume that for food when babies. You have to manually feed it to them until they are juvenile. It is also the only food they will ask for during care. Also set the follow behavior to lowest and disable wandering in case they wanna walk.
Wyvern milk can be obtained from knocking out a female wyvern and looting her. You get 5 milk. Doesn't respawn on same female.
Alpha Wyverns can be killed and looted for 50 milk.
Milk can be stored in preserve bins but not fridges.
Wyverns have 3 attacks. 3rd attack changes from flight to ground. Primary=bite, secondary=breath, tertiary(flight)=pick up creature, tertiary(land)=wing flap that pushes back enemies and knocks down trees(collects thatch more than wood)
No saddle needed. Friends can stand on back. Dismount doesn't throw you.
For the new players:
Ice wyverns freeze you which slows you down but it is the weakest wyvern
Fire wyvern does burn damage over time with breath attack
Poison wyverns can be very dangerous as their breath attack ignores armor
Lightning wyverns are the strongest wyvern in the game, however their breath attack costumes a lot of stamina
Tropical crystal wyverns aren’t the best for mele but they get a boost when touching water
Blood crystal wyverns heal themselves when they hit tigers with their breath attack
Ember crystal wyverns are similar to fire wyverns with the same breath attack
-Hope this helps!
DO NOT DRIP EGGS, THEY DONT DESPAWN AND IT STOPS ITHER EGGS FROM SPAWNING
This is for you if you are in Valguero.
The Ice Wyvern cavern (or at least the estimated middle of it) is at the coordinates Lat: 8.4 and Long: 75.3. You need to get a really high-level flier (such as an argentavis) and fly in there, grab an egg (or multiple!) from a hole in the wall of the cavern (eggs are light blue, and they spawn in nests in SOME holes), then fly back out as fast as you can and the Ice Wyverns get bored and just totally abandon their eggs with a straight face. That is ARK logic. Then, go to an incubator. Put the eggs into the incubator (make sure it’s powered) and go back to death cavern to knock out some female wyverns and collect Wyvern milk. Then go back to incubator (FLY FLY FLY BUDDY) and keep milk in a preserving bin. Then, when the baby hatches, feed it, then cryo it and put it in a cryo fridge. Then, take it out every once in a while (so it doesn’t get cryo sick. It does if you take it out too often.) and feed it. When you have an adult Wyvern, you can feed it meat. No more Wyvern milk. Then, you have an adult Ice Wyvern and you can fly around and stuff!
This is the cool part.
At the end of Ice Wyvern cavern, there is a cave. That cave is a passage to a lava-filled tunnel called Fire Wyvern cave. It’s filled with bugs, lava, and—you guessed it—Fire Wyverns. There are Fire Wyvern eggs in there as well, so you may need to get an Ice Wyvern to go up against the Fire Wyverns. It’s like a game of Floor is Lava. Literally. So you’ve got to fly into the cavern, fly through the tunnel with your Ice—wait a second, do they even fit into the tunnel? Maybe just take a high-level argentavis with loads of health. Taming one is pretty easy. See how to tame one on the Argentavis page! Fly into the cavern (don’t get lost!) and grab some eggs. Then go back the way you came and go back to the incubator. Do the exact same thing you did with the Ice Wyvern, with the cryopod and all that. Don’t worry about trying to grab milk from a Fire Wyvern, all Wyvern milk is the same. Plus, the Ice Wyvern cavern has less lava everywhere.
Do not worry about trying to craft a Wyvern saddle, that doesn’t exist ingame. Just hop on your adult Wyverns and fly around blasting stuff. Fire Wyverns have fire breath and Ice Wyverns have ice breath because ARK just had to do the most basic, obvious superpower ever. Thanks ARK. With this method, then you don’t have to use a Tek Transmitter to transport Wyverns from Scorched Earth or Ragnarok, you can just raise some on the spot!

Either carcha or giga can wipeout a whole dragon den then u can take the eggs
If you have bison milk and an Ice Wyvern, you can store the milk the wyvern's inventory to extend the lifespan of the milk for several days, which is really useful if you dont want to harvest wyvern milk or tame more bison when youre building a wyvern fleet
DO NOT VISIT THE ARCTIC ON RAGNAROK MOBILE!! There is a HUGE overspawn of ice wyverns, and they will slaughter you.
Tameable they are not
Where they live is so hot
Get an egg to hatch them
If not then live without them
