Tips & Strategies

What are tips for wyvern? Tips and strategies for wyvern in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
I suggest you build a trap with pillars to where your argy could get out but wyvern can't then have a key pad to close gate then shoot with tranquilizer arrows or darts
someone said you dont need milk if you can use deadon to heal it but does a snow owl work? i mean it should if the pig works.
up for yes
down for no
How to tame a wyvern on ragnarok
I am a mobile player and I wanted to tame a wyvern but the wyvern trench was always had wyvern over spawns in it that made it impossible to get an egg. I then thought of the idea below and did not see any other tips like it so I decided to post my strategy.
Step 1: before you try to get an egg you will need 2-3 scuba tanks, a decently health leveled megalania, and some food.
Step 2: Go to the wyvern cave on ragnorok (around 68 42 I think) and enter in the water on your megalania. (Wyverns will not be able to attack you will underwater and makes this relatively safe)
Step 3: go through the cave until you find an egg you want. (Be sure to remember where the entry of the cave is so you don’t get lost.) Using your megalania’s climbing ability exit the water and climb up to the egg.
Step 4: before dismounting make sure there is not wyverns near you and then grab the egg. Retreat back to the water and swim down. You will be safe underwater and then you can simply exit the cave.
(NOTE THIS TIP ONLY WILL WORK ON WYVERN CAVES WITH WATER IN THEM)
Thats my strategy for getting eggs! Enjoy your wyvern!
Heres some INFO as we call it..
There are more than one type of wyvern, they are fire, poison, lightning, and soon to be a Crystal Wyvern with the Crystal Isles free DLC coming, they are going to be a passive tame. The types of Crystal Wyverns are base, tropical, blood, and ember.
The wyverns spawn in wyvern dens, and can be found in the Highlands for Ragnarok and the Snow Desert in Valguero (I only do free DLCs).
You tame wuverns by going into the wyvern dens and finding nests with eggs in them. Once you have an egg, they need 10-15 standing torches, 4-5 fireplaces, or 20 (atleast) campfires. Until they are adults, they need Wyvern Milk to survive. That is all they eat until then.
Wyvern milk can be obtained by knocking out a female wyvern and collecting milk from there. Alpha wyverns drop more than normal wyverns.
Wyverns pick up larger dinos than other flyers.
Wyverns can breathe fire for fire wyvern, lightning for lighting wyvern, and poison balls for poison wyvern.
Info!
If you want the easiest way to grab an egg, just get a Fjordhawk to tag along and die instantly after you get an egg, the Hawk will bring you all your stuff
So I lost seven birds.. I was not prepared.. props to top comment
First what you need to do is look for a decent egg, go near it, than the whole wyvern population will follow you. Fly away when they follow you then go back(you will see there is no wyverns left)get the egg and go(don't eat the egg)
Just hatched two Wyvern eggs using my otter! It’s my favorite method for all eggs, no torches needed! Just drop the egg directly next to/on top of the otter and it regulates it instantly!
20 campfires
15 standing torches
5 fireplaces
Can be found behind the mountains on Scorched Earth.
Can be found in the Highlands for Ragnarok.
Can be found in the East Snow Desert for Valguero. Follow the lava trail into the darkness to find the fire wyvern trench. It gets hot and cold.
Use daedon/snow owl if you can't heal.
BONUS FACT: DID YOU KNOW? Wyverns are breedable now! Go find a pair and get some amazing mutations!
Use an oviraptor to steal eggs, then take the egg so you won’t get aggroed. Do NOT pick up the oviraptor if it’s holding the egg. The egg will vanish and it won’t be able to pick up eggs again. Hope this helps!
When you are trying to snatch wyvern eggs use cactus broth so you can fly through the world scar practicly unnoticed until you take the egg
Didn’t really know what category to put this in but oh well.
There are four main variants of Wyverns, Fire, Poison, Lightning and Ice.
Fire is close ranged, good burst and DOT damage.
Poison has the longest range, and can deal massive damage to riders.
Lightning is generally considered the best wyvern, good damage.
Ice is generally considered the worst wyvern, low damage but very heavy slowing.
A another way to a egg from this creature is use a ovoraptor and make sure there is no adult wyverns around put the ovoraptor on follow and walk onto the nest (I recommend have it it already on the nest) and it will pick the egg up and you won’t be killed by a wyvern. If this helps pla up this.
Poison Wyvern: Great for PVP because it can kill the rider off a creatures back if they aren’t careful. WARNING: the poison spit, even if the wyvern belongs to you, the AoE CAN KILL YOU without a gas mask or hazard mask.
Fire Wyvern: Great for getting more eggs as their immune to other fire wyverns (others are immune to your fire too) allowing your wyvern to just melee bite them. This includes alphas!
Lightning wyvern: Great for PVP and Bosses. Their lightning breath can deal torpor, (and a lot too) and has a horrifying DbT (damage by tick) making it very capable to shred bosses in numbers and other tames. However, if you or a tame gets in the way, the breath can also hurt them, so it is best to also invest in health.
A Dragon has 2 legs 2 arms 2 wings
A Wyvern has 2 legs no arms 2 wings
A drake has 2 legs 2 arms no wings
A Wyrm is a giant snek
A lindwyrm has 2 arms no legs no wings
An amphiptere is a snek with feather wings.
(One who did dis on Crystal Wyvern Queen section ty for inspiring me to expand this knowledge)
If you desperatly missing milk (and if you have no life) you can just give to your growing wyvern a enduro stew every 15 minute, this while prevent her for losing health when her food while reach 0, and while keep up the matuation process
Most people use the term “steal” when it comes to their eggs, I prefer the word “take”.
We are humans, we are smarter. We don’t have to cower in shadow of their great, majestic, horrible wings. Grab yourself a creature with platform, build 8-10 automatic turrets on it, bring 3000+ bullets, bring your trusty flying mount of choice, and watch them fall to the glorious, bottomless malice of mankind in seconds and when all fell to ash and cinders, fly up to their empty nests and have your picks.
