It's important to note that Wyverns of the same elemental type cannot damage or be damaged by the same elemental breath attack, so for instance a fire wyvern is your best bet when alpha wyvern hunting, as it cannot be damaged by its fire breath.

If you see a lightning wyvern FLY AS FAST AS YOU CAN THEY SHRED YOUR DINOS HEALTH

you can tell the different types of wyverns by their tails,

Be sure not to fly into a lightning wyvern and you thought hackers on cod with aim bot were annoying

Only corrupted wyverns spawn on extinction. They do not lay eggs and cannot be tamed, so dont go there for them.

Types:

Fire, short range powerful fire

Lightning, long range powerful lightning

Ice, same as fire but ice im pretty sure

Poison, usually misses but large toxic area

Alpha, all breath weapons, dangerous

Cannot be tamed. “Tamed” by stealing eggs, knocking out female and giving milk to baby/juvenile

Crystal:

Tropical, gets buff from touching water, cant swim, some sort of breath weapon idk what it is probably fire

Blood, healed by dealing damage

Ember, more powerful fire, gets rage buff turning flames blue

Queen, crystal isles boss, all crystal breath weapons

Passive tame, blood and ember attack, tropical is neutral. Queen cannot be tamed

Okay as far as milk goes you can use barrels. They last a couple of days. Better way an ice wyvryn. They are refrigerators. There are always people giving them away. The milk will last 4 days. It will keep anything perishable and add more time to decay timers. Portable refrigerators. Doesn't matter what level. They can hold a large amount. You want to maybe invest in some bison. Not only do they feed wyvryns it will advance their growth by 10 percent it's really cool. So if the cute wyv asks for wyv milk give it bison milk and watch it grow in front of your eyes. You can use bison milk throughout the growing process. If you are good on a wyv find an alpha kill it and you will receive 50 wyv milk for doing so. Make sure your inv is not Blackboxed on wyv. You will need to find bag if so on ground. And for your own mortality make sure your wyv has stamina on it. My wyvs have no less than 3500 stam and 20000 health and 1500 plus melee. That took me a min to do and can be done with much lower stats. Just a pain to run out of stamina. I fight in air clear out rhe cave and take on 15 wyvs at a time. Just takes practice. It's do able don't give up cause you will die many times. Gl out there

Eggs don't despawn, so don't drop them. If they're too low a lvl, just eat them or something so other eggs can spawn.

The best way to level up a Giga on Rag is to get a bunch of wyverns to follow you on your griffin/ptera, then dismount you’re flyer above the Giga, then get on your Giga and absolutely destroy them. This got my Giga 26 levels from 3 wyverns.

For scorched earth, set up 6 or more turrets if youre a scaredy like me. Then, fly in with either a tanky or fast flyer to get out. When the wyverns get too close to the turrets, *CHIK-CHIK-CHIK--"You killed a Wyvern(Poison)-lvl 165!" This also helps later on when getting the milk for the baby and talons for the manticore. Might work for fjordur, depending on the trench -Mantyll

Always be wary of wyverns on extinction, because there are 2 untamable types there, and they both are aggressive, these are the forest wyvern and corrupted wyvern. The forest wyvern is considered the forest titan's minion, as it spawns when the forest Titan does.

We got a quetzal w/ a platform, and put a generator and turrets up. Loaded the ammo up to 200 per turret went through all Wyvern caves, and the turrets killed them all. I had my other tribe member land in the nest & get the eggs with a argentavis.

Let me just say, the only flyers that can easily outrun and out tank one of these is another wyvern. When you run, do NOT fly straight ahead. They are faster and stronger than you and don’t run out of stamina. I highly suggest stealing any wyvern egg that you can find, and then use that wyvern to go egg hunting instead.

Use a ptero or moth with lvls pumped into speed, stam and health and use that to at least get you to an egg.

Having your bird die over a body of water, or even dismounting into the water can be a potential lifesaver, too.

If you need to avoid a lightning one just fly away then turn and fly towards the mouth then at the last second go below it

Sometimes getting the egg is not the problem. I say you land with your mount were its safe. I left my mount for 1 sec and there was a pack of raptors and microraptors. No explanation needed

All ways carry abola on scorched expicialy when near wyverns

Alphas Are able to destroy Adobe buildings watch out if u wanna get The Milk from it

I can only speak for PS4 but if you're playing on a single player world (specifically Ragnarok in my case) and you have the bug where wyverns aren't spawning or the nests aren't spawning, use " admincheat destroywilddinos " and wait about 1 in game day, maybe 2, then check they wyverns to see if they spawned and if the nests spawned, worked for me.

PS. If you play single player, you should probably just host a non dedicated server and put a lock on it. In my experience I've never really had problems like they wyverns not spawning or their nests not spawning.

Just got all my loot back while half frozen and to heavy to move, it was a big fight hardly lived but killed the only remaining wyvern. How is this egg still in my inventory????
