Tips & Strategies

What are tips for wyvern? Tips and strategies for wyvern in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Add an extra set of pillars near the gate one ceiling in so when the wyvren turns around to escape it gets stuck on the pillars. It has made trapping so much easier. Good Luck
Easy way to start a wyvern farm.
1)Get a Daeodon and make sure you have a lot of meat.
2) get a wyvern egg
3) hatch wyvern egg
4) keep baby wyvern near Daeodon and turn on its healing ability
5) Keep the Daeodon feed and it will heal the wyvern to keep it from dying
6) repeat from number 2 on (I recommend you use a wyvern for getting wyvern eggs once you have one)
Remember, you can't die if your healer never stops spamming cure wounds on you no matter how much life hurts
All of the high level lightning eggs I’m hatching because I want a breeding pair are all males.😐
I did get a black lvl 180 lightning though, so I’m happy about that. I hope I get a female soon!
Imprinted Snow Owls are amazing for stealing eggs. They get a 20% speed boost once imprinted. That along with the glide makes them faster than Wyverns.
If you get their stats high enough you can kill Wyverns with them as well even an alpha wyvern if you keep it chasing you with their wide turning radius avoiding most of the damage.
The freeze heal is nice after you have been hit with poison breathe quickly gain your health back. Just bring some food for your hunger.
If your fighting a fire Wyvern with a fire Wyvern just stay still and let it come to you then you can chomp on it and it won't hurt you too much.
Just hatch in the volcano in the island, there’s no wyverns on that map so it’s decently safe
Pro tip try using a maewing for your rock drakes and wyverns for less baby death
Famous Last Words, ~"I can club it"~ "Oh God, Noooooooo!!!!...... ... .
Bring shocking tranquillisers and your least favourite flyer.
with the new ragnorok now is probably the time to get a wyvern for the first time if you haven't, starting off make getting a pair of bison a priority you should end up with around 3 female bison for the milk thats 3 bison milk every 15 minutes with a baby bison in the vicinity, depending on your rates you might need more bison.
when its time to get an egg tame a few fodder pt's and make some extra spy glasses, tame as many pt's as you think youll need, now use those pt's and head over to the wyvern trench one pt at a time. getting the egg is upto you right through the top or around and in the back lava exit, using the little entrance or exit is pretty safe since the floor is lava and dragons are big, using it to creep in is also safer theres multiple spots for eggs not too far in i would advise waiting for the wyvern to rise and move away from the bottom. get an egg and leave the same way chances are the wyvern will chase you so be fast exit the trench and make sure none made it out. home with the egg hatch it and make sure a baby bison is also ready use the bison milk to feed it and raise it up from there, not having to trap a wyvern for milk and getting to experience the bison. you can also store bison milk in a preserving bin.
While raising if it wants wyvern milk put it in a cryopod and wait 5 mins and throw it back out the want should change
Get an ice wyvern first now that Rag ASA is out. Use it as a fridge for the milk. Lasts days not hours. Also bison, you’re going to need at least 2, one adult female and one baby. Female bison only produce milk once every hour with a baby nearby. Uncryo baby, grab the milk, cry the baby. The timer will go down without the baby present. Get about 4 milk before your Wyverns needs to eat, wyvern will never need more than 2 every 4 hours till adult.
Lengthy read, but this will dramatically help out all survivors just starting out with the ultimate goal getting a wyvern. This will make your experience much easier in many ways...
1) Locate a decent leveled Ptera, bola it for easy taming, and pump all points into stamina. (this is strictly to help mobility across the maps)
2) Upload ptera (and don't forget to take the saddle off), travel to Crystal Isles, find a drop or Ob, and download your ptera again, and travel to the desert. There's a "griffin scar" that's hard to miss.
3) Build a griffin trap made of 5-6 stone dino gates with doors on both sides and open the one closest to the griffin trench. Find a good level, get it's attention, and kite it into the trap. This is honestly the hardest step as they can hit like a truck early game and their turn radius is quite wide. Once trapped and knocked out, find an ovis south or southeast of the trench and wait for the starve timer to drop down. Slaughter the ovis and tame the griffin. Congratulations, your ptera is now obsolete. Practice dive bombing and level up stamina to at least 1500.
4) I suggest Ragnarok to start egg diving. Initially, dive into the wyvern trench with the sole purpose of gaining aggro from as many wyverns in one swoop as you can then fly up to the ceiling with wyverns in pursuit. As the wyverns finally catch up with you, dive past them back to the ground. If done fast enough, the aggroed wyverns will de-render and disappear, leaving the nests you dived past unguarded. Grab an egg, and repeat until you find one you want. Eat eggs you don't want. Don't ignore them or drop them. That's like leaving wood in beaver dams. Don't be that guy please.
5) Use standing torches or A/C units to incubate and hatch.
6) To get milk for feeding and imprints, you need to find a female wyvern. Ideally a fire cause their range sucks with their breath attack. The lower level the better. Make a trap to kite them in using a stone behemoth gates in the exact same style as your griffin trap. Knock them out with a longneck with tranq darts or crossbow with tranq arrows. Once they are knocked out grab the milk in their inventory and get back to your baby as soon as possible. Preserving salts in your inventory will double the short spoil timer but you still need to hurry just in case. Store excess milk and preserving salts in a preserving bin. Practice this process as it's always better to have more milk than not enough.
7) Raise to maturity. You can use cryo pods to avoid leaving them unattended when you're not around. Pro tip: If you cryo your baby when it wants milk and you don't have any, release them again and their desired imprint may change.
Lengthy as I said, but follow this to the letter and you'll be get baby wyverns potentially within a day or two. Happy hunting survivors.

It’s easy to get an egg just find a wyvern den look around and you’ll see an egg (you might wanna look up what they look like) grab it quick then run they always weigh 50 so make sure you have room they last for about 10 real days but that might be different on official during those days you have to knock out female wyverns and get milk from their inventory when the are knocked out (they wake up in like a minute so try to do 1 wyvern at a time) the baby’s only eat wyvern milk until they are an adult some may say you could not get the milk and use the heal pigs but that takes a lot more work because you need an insane amount of food and it doesn’t work on official
Please see this... so I was getting wyvern eggs on ragnorok for my first time so I was SOOOOO excited and my heart was beating. I took my level 99 pteradon, a level 5 lightning wyvern hated that I was there and went after me, my flyer ran out of their stamina since it only had 205% of stam... Next time just pump their stamina up a bunch.
